Today was the day. The day where I dance the night away with Colton, Schyler, and her date Dylan. I was so excited as my mom styled my hair. "Are you excited?" She asked. "Yes! I'm really nervous." I smiled at her through the mirror. She winked at me and concentrated on my hair. "Oh I forgot to tell you. Your cousin is flying in to visit. She's very excited to see you after so long." Mom said. My smile grew at the thought of seeing her again. So I dance with the people I love tonight, then see my cousin too? Could this get any better? "Ok Genna you look like you're done." My mom said, stepping back. I rose from my sitting position and admired myself in the mirror. My mom had done a light shade of gold eye shadow with eye liner and mascara and styled my hair. I was already in the dress and the whole thing came together perfectly. "Wow." I breathed. "Beautiful as always." My mom kissed my cheek. "Thanks mom." I said and hugged her. Suddenly there was a knock on the door and my mom instantly turned to me. "Are you ready?" She asked, smiling like a fool. I giggled and nodded. We walked down the stairs to see Tim already having the door open, holding a shot gun. And a very nervous looking Colton standing in the entrance, in a tuxedo. "Tim!" I scolded. They both turned to me and seemed to be awed by me. "Wow." Colton seemed to be at a loss for words. That made me blush a lot. "I'll take that as a compliment." I said, coming to stand next to him. "You look beautiful." He smiled, linking his arm through mine. I blushed at his compliment. "You two go and have fun." My mom said. "We will." I said over my shoulder as we walked down the sidewalk. We rounded the corner to my driveway and my jaw dropped. Sitting there was a black limousine with Schyler and Dylan standing next to it. "No way." I said, completely frozen with shock. I have never ridden in one. "Yes way. It's prom. Of course I'm going to spoil you." Colton smirked at me. "You didn't have to." I said. This seemed a bit too much. "Of course I did." He kissed the top of my head. "Hey guys! You're finally out!" I heard Schyler say. I followed her voice until I saw her's and Dylan's heads popping through a window in the roof. I laughed. "Yep! You guys ready to go?" I asked. "Wait!" Someone called from behind us. We all turned to see my mom standing there with a camera. "You guys can't leave without pictures!" She said. We laughed and posed. We all got a picture together, then just Schyler and Dylan in the traditional prom pose. Then Colton and I did the same thing. We were going to do another group picture when Colton leaned towards Dylan. "You ready to do this?" He asked Dylan. Dylan smiled and nodded. "Do what?" Schyler asked. The boys grinned and put us behind them, me being practically being hidden by Colton's sheer size. "My tuxedo is already unbuttoned. What you need to do is just pull it apart and smile for the camera ok?" He said. I nodded. Dylan did the same to Schyler. My mom got ready to take the picture and I pulled his tuxedo apart and he pulled something onto his head and then put his hand on his hips like a superhero. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Dylan do the same. I came out from behind Colton's back and smiled. My mom took the picture and seemed like she couldn't keep in the laughter. "What?" I asked. I looked and saw that Colton had a batman shirt on and a batman mask on. Dylan wore a Robin shirt and mask. I started cracking up. Schylar soon joined me. We heard the shutter of another camera and saw Colton and Schyler's parents standing there. "That's a great photo. Good idea boys." Teresa said. We chuckled and got into the limo. It took my breath away, I've never been in one. "You excited?" Dylan asked me. I grinned and nodded my head eagerly. "Genna you look amazing." Schyler said. I smiled. "You're gorgeous too Schy." I said. She had curled her hair and done her make up very nicely. It complimented her eyes and dress nicely. "Thanks sister." She said. For the rest of the ride we chatted and joked and laughed. When we finally arrived we exited the car and entered the hotel. Everyone gawked at us. It felt weird to have many pairs of eyes on me. I awkwardly waved and took Colton's hand. He gave it a reassuring squeeze. We silently headed towards the dance room, where Schyler and Dylan had already gone into already. It was dark besides the lights around the dance floor and the Dj. Chairs lined the walls around the room too. "You want to dance?" Colton offered me his hand. I nodded and took it. He took me to the dance floor and we quickly found Schyler and Dylan and the dance floor quickly filled up. Suddenly the "Harlem Shake" came on and Colton instantly began to flail his arms and legs. We couldn't help but laugh at him because he really couldn't dance. Then again, neither could I so it was fine. The chorus came and I began to flail my body along with Colton and everyone else. Once the song ended we danced to every other one. Schyler and I sang to all the songs as did Colton and Dylan. Finally a slow song came on and I turned to Colton. He was already ahead of me with his mask on again. I chuckled as he handed me one too. I put it on and put my arms around my neck as he put his hands on my waist. "You're amazing, my little Batgirl." He said. I giggled and blushed. "Thanks, you're pretty great too my Batman." I said. He saw me struggling to stand on my tip toes to reach his neck so he lifted me up onto his feet. "See? Amazing." I said. We were gazing into each others' eyes, and the moment felt right. We began to lean in and I closed my eyes. Our lips brushed, then connected in a passionate kiss. It was filled with love and sparks. It was amazing. Never in my life have I ever felt so loved. We pulled apart and smiled at each other. I put my head into the crook of his neck and just let it rest there. He put his head on top of mine. This was the start of the best thing that has ever happened to me.
