Adley's POV
When I walk into the main entrance in the Institute I see Caspian standing against the wall and he's staring at me but I can barely look at him. Please tell me at least one of my family members are in here right now because I do not want to talk to him. As I'm looking around for them, the only one's I see are my cousins, Scarlett and Abner. Where are aunt Izzy and uncle Simon than? Never mind, found them and now I'm looking away, hm.
"Adley!" Scarlett says in excitement and comes running to me, so I pick her up and hold her in my arms.
"Hey Scar, how's training going?" I ask her "I'm having trouble remembering the names of the runes." Scarlett tells me in her cute 6 year old voice.
"Keep studying them and you'll get them in no time. If you work hard, you'll get to where you want to be at, ok." I encourage her "Thank you Ad's" Scarlett says and I put her back down on the ground.
"How's that going?" Aunt Izzy asks me as she looks at Caspian and I sigh. "It's going, slowly" I tell her and she puts her hand on my shoulder and rubs it. Than we see uncle Magnus and uncle Alec come in and they look at Caspian and I as well.
"They're dealing with it, slowly." Aunt Izzy answers for me and I smile as they nod. All of a sudden Caspian goes down and we all run to him.
"Caspian, hey! Wake up!" I tell him as I turn him on his back to the floor. Uncle Magnus does a spell on him and he wakes up. "Are you ok?" I ask him
"I think so, what was that?" Caspian asks us and we all look at uncle Magnus. "Take a lucky guess guys, it's very obvious." He tells us and I realize who he's talking about.
"Octavius?" I ask him and he nods. Than in a quick rush the clave comes in and it's Lydia and mom and dad come running in after them.
"Lydia don't do this to her! She wasn't apart of that!" I hear dad yell after her and Lydia ignores him.
"Adley Herondale, you're in trial about Caspian Erix false death." Lydia tells me and I look at everyone in shock.
"She wasn't apart of this, Lydia. Adley didn't know that he faked his death, you should've seen her when it happened. Believe us" Uncle Alec explains to her.
"I'm sorry Alec but you're niece is still being questioned. Now, everyone get it set up, now!" Lydia says and I can barely breathe right now.
"What is going on? The clave is questioning my loyalty. Even though I've been born into this, literally." I say mainly to myself. Uncle Magnus comes up to me and puts his hand on my shoulder.
"Don't worry, I'll be your defence attorney and get you out of this in no time that they will be looking like fools for accusing you." "Thank you uncle Magnus" I tell him and I start to get even more scared. The whole family hugs me tight and I just take deep breaths. It's going to be ok, I'll get out of this, right?
Will Magnus get Adley out of this stupid trial? Or will she no longer be a Shadowhunter for good like Maryse? ❤️
