Adley's POV
As we're all talking as a family except for aunt Izzy in the institute Caspian is working out his frustration from his mom yesterday by training. I can't help but look at him and feel my heart ache for him with what he's going through right now. Caspian of all people and of all kindest hearts, he doesn't deserve this. We all hear heels running and already know who it is, aunt Izzy.
"Adley, Clary I need you ladies on a mission with me. Demon in the sewers" Aunt Izzy informs us and we get our swords and I say goodbye to Caspian and everyone.
When we get in the sewer's it smells but I'm used to it. Aunt Izzy and mom used to bring me here to train as I got older. We walk slowly to find the demon and I can tell that mom and aunt Izzy want to talk to me.
"Just say what's on your mind guys. No need to shy away." I tell them and they look at each other.
"Ok, does Caspian know what he's doing with his mom yet?" Mom asks me "I think he wants to get more answers out of her first before deciding. Just so he truly knows what's going on." I explain to mom
"Smart guy, don't get your answers to quickly. That never goes well, I know. Adley behind you!" Aunt Izzy warns me and I see a shax demon come right from behind me and I kill it with pushing my sword down.
"Thank you" I tell her and she nods at me.
Mom kills a demon against the wall and almost slips but I catch her. Than a demon comes for me literally under my feet but I'm able to cut it's head off and it disappears. Aunt Izzy uses her loud whip over us because a demon is crawling on the pipes on top of the sewer tunnel. Than a demon comes right in between mom and I and we kill it at the same time as fast as we can.
"So how far do you think it's going to get with Caspian?" Aunt Izzy asks me as we wait for more demons to come.
"I uh, hm, I actually do want a future with him." I admit to them and they both look at me with excitement, especially mom.
"You do! Awe honey, that's amazing! Would you consider having kids with him?" Mom asks me and I smile with a nod and mom and aunt Izzy get excited.
"I love that you're thinking about this. You would be great parents. You would also be really great shadowhunter teachers to your kids." Aunt Izzy tells me
"Ok slow down aunt Izzy, breathe. That won't be for many years." I relax her and she rolls her eyes and kills a demon.
"I know but it's just exciting to think about." Aunt Izzy explains and mom kills a demon over her head that is hiding in the bars and you hear it scream.
I see demon blood on the wall as a trace so I follow it with the witch light and I start to get quite far away but I'm close enough that I can still hear them killing demons. A demon is on the ground bleeding out and squirming weirdly but I think it just cut it self on the pipe line. I end it's life by slashing my sword through it and it dies fast. I hear another screech behind me and a demon is about to jump at me but I kill it in time. Now I hear nothing so I walk back to mom and aunt Izzy and thank the angel they're ok.
"Oh sweetie, you went far alone. Are you ok?" Mom asks me as her and aunt Izzy come running carefully to hug me since we're in water. We're all drenched in it, completely soaked now.
"I'm fine mom, you guys trained me well enough to know my senses. I'm fine" I assure her and she hugs me tight.
"Ok but next time you better let me come with you." Mom warns me "And me, 3 is better than 2." Aunt Izzy joins in and hugs me tight as well.
"I will, sorry to scare the both of you like that but I'm totally and completely fine. Plus I used my witch light to see in the dark as I got further." I inform them
"I am proud of you though. You did amazing on this mission. There were so many demons here tonight." Mom encourages me and I smile.
"Thank you mom, that means a lot." I tell her
"I'm proud of you too Adley. You really are becoming a bad ass shadowhunter. Stop growing up!" Aunt Izzy begs me
"Yeah, quit it, where's that little girl of mine who was just learning how to use a sword and a witch light?" Mom says as well and we hug each other in our soaking wet and smelly clothes.
After a while of checking still no demons so we head back to the institute and get changed and showered. I find Caspian and he's standing on the balcony of his bedroom. I knock on his balcony door and he turns around and lets me in.
"Hey, how did the mission go?" Caspian asks me as he holds me tight. "It was so much fun and no one got hurt." I inform him "Good, I'm glad" He says
Caspian kisses me and I kiss him back. I know this sounds cheesy but every time I kiss him I feel like my whole body is melting. I just get so relaxed with him. Except I start to realize that I'm tired.
"Hey, you look tired, you should get some rest. You had a long mission." Caspian suggests as he tucks my hair behind my ear.
"I am you joining me?" I ask him and he grabs my hand. "I could use some sleep too." He says and I go and take a shower first because I stink from the sewers. After my shower Caspian gives me one of his black shirts and I just go in my underwear. I get under the covers with him and he holds me tight and rubs my arm that's over his body. I can feel him kiss my forehead as I instantly fall asleep.
Caspian's POV
This angel of mine is someone I never want to let go of. I just couldn't imagine my life without her. As I think that a knock is on the door.
"Come in" I whisper but loud enough so they can hear me and it's Clary. "Oh, is this ok?" I ask her
"Yeah, she had a hard mission with us. We'll let her sleep with you. I just came to check up on her." Clary let's me know
"Oh, yeah she was exhausted as soon as she got back with you guys. All she wanted to do was sleep." I explain to her and she smiles at her daughter.
"She really loves you Caspian. You have no idea how much you mean to her. Thank you for taking such good care of my daughter." Clary thanks me and I smile at her.
"I always will, I promise she'll be safe with me. Adley means a big deal to me to. I couldn't do anything without her." I admit to Clary and she smiles.
"You two really are perfect for each other. Alright, I'll let you guys get your sleep. Don't do anything stupid though." Clary warns me and I can tell she's serious.
"Don't worry, she's safe with me." I tell her again and she smiles at me as she's about to leave.
"Night" She says "Night" I say back and she closes the door.
"Night, my precious Adley" I whisper to my angel and kiss her forehead gently and fall asleep with my head next to her head. This is the way to end my stressful day, with peace.
