Everything had gone back to usual. Pandora was living himself more and more into the modern world, and was actually enjoying himself by now. Kaito was out and about showing him everything he could, and with his new roommate he didn't exactly feel as much alone either.
After all, Pandora was unable to speak without causing chaos. Pandora was never going to be able to spill his secret of being Kaitou KID.
And now that he had Pandora...
Hm...
Kaito was busy staring out of the window inside his classroom, never minding the teacher up front trying to lecture his classmates. It was a sunny day outside, a bright blue sky with tiny clouds drifting by. A perfect day for mischief-
And that was exactly what Hakuba was expecting, staring a hole into Kuroba's head. He was for sure going to pull of some sort of miracle any second now. It had him on the edge, and it was suspicious how silent Kuroba had been all day long.
Nervewracking, to say the least. Of course the Brit assumed he was going to be today's target and the more Kuroba let him wait, the more he anticipated what was about to come.
Quietly, he went back a few days. Did he do anything to upset Kuroba? Not as far as he knew, the only recent noteworthy event was Kuroba's adventure with-
Hakuba swallowed, shaking his head, trying to get rid of the thought. His eyes wandered to Koizumi. They hadn't been affectionate in class so far, it was more like their usual cat and mouse game. But Hakuba had known about Kuroba's short termed crush towards Nakamori Aoko as well... and their usual cat and mouse games.
Something weird was going on right now and Hakuba was not exactly pleased to be in the dark about all of this.
Kaito leaned back to stretch himself, prompting a flinch of his oh so annoying company of a detective. Of course he was on edge, Kaito didn't exactly expect anything else- after all, by now he would have caused at least some sort of mischief.
But all he could think about was the current situation. No heists were planned in near future, Akako had made it crystal clear that this Pandora, this boy, was exactly what he had been searching for.
He had Pandora. The one thing the Black Organisation was searching for.
But he couldn't destroy him. Wouldn't destroy him.
Kaito didn't have the heart to do so, not even speaking about it being possible. The question was just... was that going to be it? Was this supposed to be the end of Kaitou KID?
Kaito should have been happy about this, he could finally lead a normal life, and yet, the thought of it made him sick. He would leave people behind... couldn't see some of his favorite persons anymore.
Kaito smiled, almost bitter.
He knew he was going to miss Kudo. Secretly, he did hope that someday, he was going to spot Kudo in his audience while he himself performed as a worldfamous magician.

Pandora stood in front of Kaito's bathroom mirror, intently practicing his few words of sign language Kaito had taught him.
I. Am. Pandora.
Again. Pandora looked at his hands, then at the mirror.
I. Am. Pandora.
Nice. To. Meet. You.
The boy smiled to himself. One more time.
Nice. To. Meet. You.
Nice. To. Meet. You.
Pandora was so proud of himself. He took glee in learning from his roommate, and it was fascinating to explore all those different kind of utensils he had lying about the house.
...The chopsticks were still a pain to use. Why couldn't he just eat with his hands?
There were still things he didn't quite understand. Maybe soon? Someday? Pandora knew he had all the time of the world and even more.
The boy stepped away from the mirror and made his way downstairs. He could use a break. Maybe take a walk? Kaito was up and exploring every single corner of Ekoda with him, and Pandora felt comfortable enough to wander on his own when his friend wasn't home.
He knew where Kaito was, after all. That large building with all the other humans his age. A gathering point? Perhaps. Maybe Kaito would explain more if he asked.
The sunshine was warming his skin, the soft noise of wind brushing over the grass around him sounded like heaven against his ears, and Pandora could see for quite a while alongside his path. He would pick up Kaito when he was done, he was going to be so happy!
Pandora was giddy with himself. A long time since he had seen the big building but he still knew exactly where it was- curtesy of having a good memory.
As the large school ground came into view, Pandora chose to sit down on one of the benches and keep his eyes glued onto the entrance. He wasn't particulary fond of entering the school and most likely ending up lost. Maybe the strange girl who spoke his language was still there?
He would like to see her again. Maybe apologize. She seemed upset with him last time they had met.
The boy scrunched up his nose. He hated displeasing people around him.
After a while, the doors opened and students poured onto the school grounds. It was overwhelming, all those different kinds of humans and Pandora had a hard time spotting his friend but once he did, he immediately sprinted at him and flew into a very surprised Kaito's arms.
"Huh?! W-what are you doing here, weren't you supposed to be at home?!"
Kaito awkwardly wrapped his arms around the giddy boy and sideeyed a more than suspicious Hakuba.
"And what are you looking at?"
"Pardon me, last time I made the acquaintance of this person, I saw you knocking him onto the ground."
Hakuba raised his eyebrows at him and Kaito rolled his eyes. Way to go. Akako came over and smiled at Pandora, yet the lad was still fixated onto Kaito and Hakuba.
"Oh no you won't."
Kaito put his hand over Pandora's mouth with a warning look before removing it again. Pandora was glaring at Hakuba, obviously convinced he wasn't exactly good for his friend.
As much as Kaito enjoyed the obvious discomfort of his British nuisance, he also had the trouble of making Pandora leave again before the school break was over.
