TW: Struggle
"...I'm not able to do that."
As Beatrix woke up, her hair was all on her face and was sticking to her. That was because of her previous crying and new drool. She noticed she was wrapped in a cotton blanket and was laying on a soft couch. She looked around and saw breakfast in front of her on a coffee table. She also saw Gene, wrapped up in a chair across from her. Beatrix noticed how unsafe it looked, and so she shot up to grab him. After that, she realized where she was.
She was at Sylvie's again. Then, everything came back to her as she saw Sylvie come into the living room, who jumped back seeing her awake.
"I hope you slept well," she started, "I would've given you my bed but you passed out before I could ask you."
"I slept fine... Thanks," She looked down at Gene and back up to her, "I'm sorry, I just... realized that I've come to you for everything that's happened to me in the past week. Sorry if it's too much."
Sylvie smirked, "I don't mind. I like having you around." She leaned on the doorway, with her arms crossed.
A faint pink spread across Beatrix's face. She smiled slightly, "Is this food for me?" She motioned towards the brioche bun next to the jam that came with hot coffee.
"Yeah, of course. I hope you like it. To be honest, I bought it at ze store. I'm not good at cooking," She chuckled lightly and looked at the ground, seemingly embarrassed.
"Oh, that's fine,"
"Do you want me to leave you alone? I know you might need some space,"
Beatrix sat down and placed Gene beside her. He was sound asleep, "No, I'd rather you talk to me," She patted the empty spot to her left, "Come eat some of this with me."
"I would, but I have somewhere to be right now. It won't take long, but it may take about five minutes,"
"What is it?" Beatrix frowned.
"I work down ze street, and today is a day off, but I have to check in during ze morning. It's very quick,"
Beatrix looked at Gene and mumbled, "Okay, that's fine." Sylvie stood up straight and then was off with a wave. Beatrix flopped down in the chair and noticed Gene was awake and how scared he looked. She wasn't sure why, but he just looked scared, or at least like he didn't know who she was. All it took for the face to go away was to do the tickling and funny faces combo.
She eventually set him down on her lap and grabbed her food. This was proven a task, as Gene kept trying to steal the plate.
"You little demon," she muttered as she repeatedly took his hand out of the jam. Not too long after she lathered the jam onto the bun, she got a text. She dreaded even paying attention to it, but she felt the need to.

She thought for a while about who to text first. She went with Ophelia, since she would be the least confrontational.
