Time Jump

August 24, 1984

When Lindsey walked into the closet, Stevie was all made up and her hair was done in a tastefully curly side ponytail.

"How does it look?" She asks.

"Your hair, I like it." He nods.

"I'm wearing silver, what should I do for my shoes?" She asks.

"Those red velvet ones. I haven't seen you in them yet." he points to the strappy five-inch heels.

"Alright." She nods grabbing the shoes and getting her feet into them before Eliza helps her step into the dress. Lindsey buttons up the back for her and then he steps back and takes her all in. The dress is silver sparkly. It's a ball gown, with an off the shoulder strap.

"I might just have to take that off of you tonight." He tells her.

"Mmm, I agree, especially because you're wearing the turquoise button up I like so much."

She didn't know why but this week alone, she was really sex crazed. It had been two weeks since her period, so she knew the uptick in hormones was definitely not from a baby, she just couldn't figure out why her body wanted sex so much. They had been having so much sex that a couple days ago she was waddling around the house.

It was the night of Christopher's courting ball and though Stevie was weary about having Townspeople in her home, she didn't want to have it at Brentwood because these things tended to run long, her own is a good example of it, and she wanted to be able to sneak up to bed when she wanted to, or she she wanted to pleasure her husband, because that was what the night was apparently going to turn into.

They were announced and once they walked into the ball room the party officially started. They mingled and danced and they watched Christopher closely. The first five hours of the ball he went from woman to woman and then he finally got cozy with a redhead so Stevie gave the single and they headed upstairs to make love well into the night. They went three rounds and by the time Stevie fell asleep she just knew that there was something different.

Stevie was up drinking tea in the morning sitting at the dining room table when Christopher came trudging in.

"Did you sleep here last night?" She asks.

"I did...I popped in on you and Lindsey to tell you, but you guys were sleeping and I think he was naked so I didn't stay too long."

"We got a little hot and heavy last night." She shrugs. "But by the looks of you, I think you did too."

He just makes eyes at his sister and she breaks out laughing. "God it's just like when we were teenagers."

It was then that Lindsey walked in with the red head Chris got cozy with at the bar and she looked like a sad lost puppy wearing the sheets off the guest bed as a dress.

"Christopher I think this is yours." Lindsey states.

"Yeah, um Lori this is my sister Stephanie and my brother in law Lindsey. Guys this is Lori."

"So, am I right in assuming that you guys  might be interested in starting a courtship." Stevie looks between the two of them.

"We briefly discussed it yeah." Lori nods.

"Alright, come on." Stevie stands up and motions for Lori to follow her.

Obeying her queen, Lori follows her upstairs and Stevie points to the bed. She quickly covers up the remnants of last night, not his mess, her mess, and then she has Lori sit. Stevie disappears for a millisecond and comes out holding a pair of grey sweatpants and a black teeshirt.

"These are mine, but you can borrow them. It shouldn't be a problem because I think we'll be seeing a lot of you around...but can I ask you something?" Stevie crawls on the bed.

Lori was sitting on her side of the bed up by the pillows,  facing the closet so Stevie crawled on the foot of the bed, her body on Lindsey's half, and she settled on her stomach.

"Sure?" Lori asks taking the clothing from her and thumbing at the fabric.

"You seem apprehensive."

"It's just, why me out of all people. There's nothing special about me. And I'm a townsperson, he could've had a princess or a duchess."

"But he didn't...he decided that it was time to bring some new faces into the monarchy. He likes you Lori, I wouldn't worry about anything. He's going to court you and he's a great boy...He's the kind of boy that'll write you poetry and give you flowers. If he cares about you, he's going to show it to you. It's not easy to get in bed with that man. You did something right last night. I say go for it. And I'm not that scary am I?"

"Well, you aren't but the people are."

"If you're worried about backlash in the public as soon as you and Chris agree to court you CAN move in with him. Lindsey and I did." She tells her.

"I have your blessing though?"

"Of course you do. I wouldn't have let him have a courting ball with only townspeople if I wasn't going to give my blessing." Stevie smiles.

"Thank you so much. Is there a place I can change?"

"Yeah, the bathroom is right in there. I'll wait for you so you can find your way back downstairs." She chuckles.

"Yeah thank you, I got so lost this morning."

"It's easy to do." Stevie nods.

When the two women emerge downstairs, Chris and Lindsey are talking about something they watched on the television and the conversation stopped as soon as they saw the girls.

"Now, that we're all acquainted with each other, what are our thoughts on omelets?"

"I haven't seen any cooks around." Lori shakes her head.

"That's because I'm the cook. There will be a cleaning crew in tomorrow to clean up the ball room and the guest toilets, but other than that I don't have any staff here." Stevie shrugs.

"You are so not what I expected." Lori shakes her head.

"I know I get that a lot." She smirks.
