Chapter 18

A/N

A new character will appear in this chapter! I put a gif with him! This is Eric Martin from Mr. Big band. In this story he will not be a glam metal singer, but a pop singer and in this story his name is Patrick Cohen.

After three months...

It's 1986 now. It's the beginning of February. Evie is concerned about her cousin because she hasn't given birth yet. The baby is overdue now. If Amelie does not give birth in a few days, her birth will be induced.

Evie is in the recording room. She puts her headphones on her ears, the microphone is in front of her. Next to her is Patrick. Patrick is a young man close to her age. He is the son of her manager, Adam, who stands now by the glass wall that separates them amd watches them. He is waiting for the two of them start singing. Patrick has just started his music career just like her. They're both going to sing a duet now.

The brunette feels something touching her head. She turns and sees Patrick with his hand in her hair. He seems a little uneasy now that the young woman is looking at him, oddly.

"Sorry," he says, smiling, looking at her with his shining green eyes. "You had a strand of hair on your headphones."

Evie smiles shyly at him, a shade of pink appearing on her cheeks. The situation seems a bit strange. But so far she has a good opinion of Patrick. He seems friendly and speaks very nicely to her. He seems so kind and his voice is so calm. However, he has a different personality from Nikki. And yet, although she seems to be compatible with Patrick, she loves Nikki madly.

A sad feeling now runs through her heart. After she caught Nikki taking drugs, everything seems ok. She never saw him do that again. But maybe now that he knows that he can be caught again, he hides much better? Evie wants to think she's just exaggerating and imagining scenarios. Her boyfriend can't continue to live his life like that. He has to do everything to give up his vices.

Finally, leaving these worrying thoughts behind, she and Patrick is slowly starting the duet. His father follows them carefully so as not to make any mistakes. When they finish, Patrick looks at her for a long time, smiling slightly. They both take off their headphones and he says:

"It was awesome! You have a wonderful voice."

"Thank you," she smiles. "You have a wonderful voice too."

The two look at each other for a while until Patrick's father comes to them and congratulates them on how well they sang.

After a few hours...

Evie is home now. When she arrives, Nikki is home. Now that they have little time to spend it together, they both sit on the couch, watch a movie and cuddle. He takes her chin in his hand, looking at her with his eyes full with lust and desire. She seems to look at him the same way.

The next thing that happens is that their lips touch and start to make out on the couch. The kisses become more and more fiery, they both touch each other wanting more, but after a while they can hear the phone ringing. They break the kiss, disappointed that their moment has been interrupted.

"I'm going to see who is it," Evie says, giving him a small smile and getting up from the couch.

Nikki smiles at her and watches her leave the room. Evie goes to the kitchen where she hears the phone ringing. She grabs the receiver and puts it to her ear and says:
