WILL POV:
Nico seems to tolerate my presence at best, but that is good enough for me. To be fair, it had only been a week, but since he didn't tell me to fuck off and threaten my life when I asked to hang out after school I decided we were on the right track.

Nico sighs, "He said it's fine."

"Yay!" I cheer as Nico grumpily shoves his phone back into his pocket.

"Don't make me regret this," he says, raising an eyebrow at me.

"I'll do my best," I smile at him and he rolls his eyes.

To anyone else he probably seemed like an asshole, and to be honest he kinda was, but I could tell I was growing on him. He didn't automatically roll his eyes every time he saw me walking towards him, he didn't tell me to shut up right away when I started rambling, and most noticeably, he didn't flinch every time I got a little too close to him. This all told me that rather or not he wanted to admit it, he didn't hate me. He was probably trying to push me away by being as abrasive as possible in hopes I'd give up and decide to be a hermit for the rest of my life. What he doesn't know yet is I'm incredibly stubborn when I want to be.

Even though it was the second time I saw his house from the inside, it still blew me away. This time I was able to notice more minute details I hadn't seen before because my mind had been more focused on Nico himself.

The second we walked through the door a huge Rottweiler came hurdling out of nowhere and pounced on Nico knocking him back into the door. I was about to try and grab the dog and pull it off of him when I realized he was laughing.

"Get off me girl," he smiles, pushing the dog off him.

His laugh is beautiful, nothing too special other than I could tell it wasn't a sound many got to hear too often. It made me sad when he stopped, though he was still beaming down at the dog as if she was his pride and joy.

Suddenly the dog turned to me, but after seeing her pounce on Nico I was prepared for it. I catch her paws on my shoulders, which is extremely impressive even for a Rottweiler. It must have weighed at least 110 pounds, and considering I'm 6'4, the fact that she comes up to my shoulders says a lot.

Nico pulled her off me, "Sorry, she likes people."

"It's okay," I chuckle, still petting the dog's head, "I like dogs. What's her name?"

"Mrs. O'leary," Nico said looking at the dog fondly.

What I wouldn't give to be that dog right now, I think seeing the loving stare he has for his pet.

"Is that you Nico?" A female voice called.

"Yeah, I'm home, and I brought a stray," Nico called back to the seemingly empty house throwing his backpack down on the floor by the door. I followed his lead and set mine next to his.

"What do you mean you brought a stray?" Hazel said suddenly appearing from around the corner in the kitchen. "Oh hi, Will right?"

I smiled in surprise, "Yeah, good memory."

"Well, my brother doesn't tend to bring home friends. Especially not more than once," Hazel smirked at her brother with her hands on her hips.

Nico narrowed his eyes at her sarcastically. "Ha-ha, very funny," he said mockingly. "I didn't try to bring him home, the first time he followed me, and this time, well practically the same thing."

Hazel laughed and rolled her eyes playfully, "Whatever you say, I'm making a chicken Caesar salad, you're having one too. Already made you a bowl and everything."
