NICO POV:
I want to feel like this all the time. All the stress from Will's family scrutinizing my every move both in front of Will and behind his back just melts away with every deep breath. No more voices of his cousins and aunt threatening me to smile more and 'be happier', or his one cousin begging me to let her cut my hair.

The only thing that was missing was Wills's arms wrapped around me and his lips on my neck. That would make this feeling the definition of heaven.

"This was a great idea," Jack grins.

"Absolutely," I agree. "I was so sick of your stupida famiglia giving me merda."

"My stupid what giving you what?" Jack bursts out laughing. "Dude your so high your speaking gibberish."

I can't help but laugh equally as hard, laying my head in my hands where my elbows are resting on the park table. "It's Italian, not gibberish."

"Ohhh," he says more so under his breath. "That makes more sense."

"You know what would make this even better?"

"What?" he inquires curiously.

"Alchohol," I say. "I would love a drink."

"I unfortunately do not have any of those," he sighs.

"Very unfortunate," I agree.

I stand up and move to lay in the grass and stare up at the stars, and after a minute or so of Jack watching me curiously he comes and lays down with me. I don't know how long we lay like that, passing back and forth our third joint but eventually, the zen moment is interrupted by my phone buzzing loudly. I pick it up and see Wills calling me. "Shit," I mumble, sending him to voice mail.

I look at the clock and see we've been gone for nearly two hours. Which I'm sure is why Wills calling because that is a suspiciously long walk. I text him 'Heading home now calm Ur tits'.

"We need to go back," I grumble. "Wills starting to worry."

Jack groans, "Let him worry, he'll get over it."

"Maybe," I shrug, "però sono io quello che deve avere a che fare con lui."

"Huh?" Jack turns to me with utter confusion on his face. "I'm so high it sounds like you weren't even speaking English."

I roll my eyes, "You have no tolerance for weed. I said I'm the one that will have to deal with him though."

"You really wanna go back when we just finished a joint?"

"No," I pause, considering if it would be better to go back now when I know I have no chance of hiding that I'm high from him or later when he's pissed off and anxious that I was gone so long but might be able to fake sobriety. Then I consider the fact that Will's family will probably like me much more high since I'm happier and decide to just accept that Will is just gonna figure out I smoked no matter what I do, so I might as well not worry him anymore. "But we need to, Wills gonna be mad I smoked either way. I swear he has a sixth sense for this shit."

Jack smirks, "He always knows when someone's hiding something it's weird."

"Finally! qualcuno lo capisce!"

We walk back into the backyard and see they got a big fire lit in the center of the patio. I see Will sitting next to his other cousin Austin and immediately walk over to him and put my arms around his neck.

"I'm back," I smile and kiss his cheek.

Will smiles as he turns to face me but I see his smile waver a little and know if he hasn't already clocked it he's going to within the next few minutes.
