13| ABUSED

It was a little bit after Derek had come into Meredith's room and Derek still held her hand. If he was being honest there was no way he thought that was going to work, he thought the second he walked into the room she was gonna yell at him and kick him out, she didn't react too well to seeing him, but she did let him in eventually.

After a few minutes Derek heard little feet running to the door, he turned his head and saw the door handle slowly turn and then the door opened and he was met with a little blonde girl.

"Hi" Ellis smiled as she ran into the room and climbed in the bed and cuddled into Meredith's side as Derek held the hand that was on her other side

"Where did you go?" Derek whispered to Ellis trying not to wake Meredith as Meredith soon wrapped her arm around Ellis as she was still asleep

"Grandma took me to get breakfast and I ate pancakes!" The little girl smiled as she also kept in a whisper

"That sound like a lot of fun" Derek smiled

"Do you wanna stay here with you're Mommy for a bit?" Derek asked her as she nodded her head

"Okay, if you're mommy asks where I went just tell her I went to check on something and I'll be right back if she wants, okay?" He said as he gently placed Meredith's hand in the bed

"Okay" Ellis smiled as she held onto Meredith's hand and laid her head on her chest

"I'll see you later, Ellie" he smiled as he kissed the top of her head

"K" she smiled as she started drifting off.

Derek looked at Meredith a bit and leaned down and gently kissed her forehead as she still slept and then left the room.

Derek walked over to the counter where Addison was standing

"How'd it go?" Addison asked him as she saw him walk up to her

"It went okay, she got scared a few times she was crying, and she started crying, but she eventually let me hold her and she stopped shaking and crying and then fell asleep. Ellis is with her right now" he said

"Ellis?" She asked

"Her daughter" he replied

"Oh, that's who that was going into her room. She looks a lot like Meredith" she said

"Yea, she does"

"How's the little one dealing with everything that happened when Meredith went missing?"

"She coloured in my office and cried a few times, but she did miss her a lot, I just told her Meredith was going to be back soon," he said as he frowned at the memories

"And how did she react when she saw Meredith with cuts and bruises all over her?"

"She didn't really say anything that I know of, I think she was just happy that her mom was back," he said

"That makes sense. So she's okay with seeing you?" Addison asked

"For a bit, but I'm pretty sure it's going to take a while before she gets completely comfortable," he said

"Okay, well I have a patient to go check on, good luck Derek" Addison smiled as she walked down the hall and looked into Meredith's room a bit as she stepped on the elevator.

Derek stood there and thought about what he could do to make Meredith feel more safer, he remembered that when he got on his knees that helped a bit so she didn't have to see him for as tall as he was and that he would try that again later after Meredith woke up.
