We all had gathered the next morning within the fields about an hour away from our camp. A portal was used to cut time but today was the day no one wanted to miss. The reason most love coming here at all, despite its disheveled state, the ruins.
De La Corazon was known for its magical empowered ruins. It used to host a category of various witches but after their home was destroyed during Daarv Arak most fled to New Grace and Black Sun for sanction but their synergy and history remains.
"Welcome students, learners, to the Ruins of the Old witches. Feel free to explore and touch the ruins, and play with the magic here. We'll put up a barrier to sustain any permanent damage to the actual site so feel free to go wild and let loose," One of the other pro witches announced leaving us to our own devices.
Kendra, Charlie, and I took our time looking for anything relating to the dark age but the more I looked around the more I don't fully understand what happened. More importantly ever since yesterday Trevor and Mei have been closer in watching us, Trevor more than Mei. I shook it off and continued my search.
My head turned over to a small group of kids, "These witches had a weird way of writing, it's boring and I can hardly understand what they're even trying to say,"
One of their friends laughed, "Yeah like they were probably on shrooms or something that fucked them all the way up!"
"Oh, my Iris! Remember when you snorted your mom's bath salts and you could only see red for days on end," A taller boy reminisced with a playfully dreamy-eyed grin.
"Shut the fuck up, we don't talk about it," She shoved their friend before they walked off and out of earshot.
The moment they moved on I walked over to the west they stood. It was a large concrete piece that's looked like part of a misshaped arch. My eyes searched the glyphs engraved on the rock for anything but I couldn't make much out.
A monster? A demon?
Is that monster or is it a demon? I'm not sure if either has relevance but both look the same.
"You know this barrier is the same kind they used for the apprentice duel back at school," Kendra offered in a matter of fact and her chin held high.
I groaned and turned away from the stone, "Could we not even mention anything that has to do with Vivianne or the duel or anything else she's involved me in. Thanks," I puffed before dismissing the silent thoughts of her that soon flood my mind.
"What it's not like she's here," Charlie shrugged off popping a few foreign fruit slices into xyr mouth.
Where did xe get that? Oh never mind it's Charlie.
I turned back to both of them only for a second but both of them caught on quickly to what was happening.
"Yikes, sorry about that," Kendra apologized taking a seat on the stone bench behind her.
My frustration grew as I realized I was staring mostly at the stupid ass rock and haven't read a single thing on it.
I groaned and continued hoping that the anger didn't show on my face. Starting from the top I tried again.
A monster? A demon? came to–
"What are you three up to?" Mei asked coming by us.
