"Welcome to the First Trial!" Kris said fluttering about the entire room. "Here are the rules,"

Each challenger will have to find at least one memory sphere of strong emotion and place them in the pillar's baskets in the middle of the room to the feeling it corresponds to. Some memories maybe are yours and some might be another one of the challengers. You must organize all your memories.

"That's it? Shouldn't be too hard," Wynter chuckled as we all started to spread out across the room.

Kris nodded, "Then complete it quickly, I'll see you guys when you're finished," She waved goodbye to us and for a moment it sounded like she muttered, "If you make it that far,"

I'm not sure if that was her or my imagination. Those whispers are getting to me but being busy like this helps to keep them away. Whispers in my head versus reality are so different but still very confusing from time to time. It is a very burry line to stand on.

Kris disappeared into a cloud of sparky steam right before started to shift in appearance. Pillars of slate emerge from the floor engraved with writing and woven baskets of dried leaves on the top. Bookshelves filled with dozens of spheres flip to expose themselves against the wall as room dividers are used to split the room up into six areas.

"Lilac and I will start over here," Zane said claiming a bottom left corner of the room.

"Okay then, I guess we'll start over here," Sora shrugged pulling Kae away to the shelving unit across from them.

I looked over at the other who stood to the left of me and noticed that Trevor and Mei left a while ago and had already gotten started.

Charlie and Kendra took the top right corner leaving me in a state of disbelief. It's like they abandoned to fend for myself.

I gave them a glance over as the two looked back before looking over at my partner options. Then laughed and turned away from me!

Some friends I've got.

"Pick your poison. I don't care who I partner with, it's not like I'm gonna do any of the work," Angelo shrugged, gesturing to the two remaining people standing at the bookshelf.

Nalo in the top left corner and Wynter in the middle right row across from Trevor and Mei.

"Thanks," I said to him with a small head nod, "Then I suppose I should just bite bullet. I can do that right?"

"I don't know, you tell me," His face dropped in frustration like I was bothering him for years.

My teeth clamped down on my tongue, prevent certain obscenities from leaving my mouth. Before I agreeing with a small head nod and walking off.

By the time I actually got to Wynter Lilac and Zane had already found the first emotion: Disgust. No shocker it was Kendra eating an Deep Sea Fear gummy from the Scary Sweet snack pack box I got for grave day.

Grave Day, a day to clean tombstones and celebrate the death of a loved one. On the night before people leave gifts for them before receiving a gift from a living member in memory of the dead.

"So, are you feeling better?" I started up pretending as if yesterday didn't happen.

"You're the one who fainted, not me," He stared deeply my way.

My face heated, burning with embarrassment. "Yeah, yesterday was tough for me, lots of emotions, not enough sleep, and lots of crying," I tried to jokingly play off but it seemed to spark no joy from Wynter who could barely manage to look my way.
