The week had come and gone quickly. Emily spent time with her family in Amherst for a few days while Sue spent time with James'. Saturday had finally rolled around, and the girls had plans to get together this evening at Emily's apartment. Sue was just going to come over and they were going to watch a couple of movies and unwind from the week.
Emily was readying up her place for Sue's arrival. She had just picked up the Thai food from a local spot down the street and had grabbed a nice bottle of wine for them to share. Emily had intended on this being a nice evening—this would be the first time Sue and Emily would really be hanging out alone outside of work for quite some time, so she was excited.
There was a knock on Emily's door and she walked up to open it. On the other side was Sue standing there, looking hot as hell. Emily was suddenly drooling. Sue's hair was down and she was wearing a white cropped t-shirt, showing off her tummy. She was in a pair of high waisted jeans and her black boots. Her jacket was draped over her arm already and she was standing there smiling at Emily.
"Can I come in, or are you just going to keep staring?" Sue teased, walking past Emily.
Emily didn't say anything—she watched as Sue walked into her apartment and shut the door behind her.
"You're hot." Emily said nonchalantly, "Wow, you're hot." This time she said it not so nonchalant, changing her tone more flirtatious.
Sue laughed, "Emily, please."
"Okay, okay." Emily grinned, shoving her hands in her front pockets. She bit her lip as she watched Sue put her jacket down on the chair in the living room.
Sue walked up to Emily and tugged on the bottom of her red and black plaid shirt that was covering a black sports bra she was wearing. Emily, too, was showing off her tummy tonight. She was wearing black sweatpants and felt confident and comfortable all at the same time.
"You don't look so bad yourself," She said, letting go of her shirt. She kicked off her boots by the door and walked into the kitchen with Emily, "How was your Thanksgiving?" She asked, putting the corkscrew into the wine bottle.
Emily leaned on the counter and watched as Sue opened the wine bottle, "It was a nice time. It's always nice seeing my mother and father. I don't really see them much these days with how busy it's been at work. I need to make it a point to go out to Amherst more. How was your Thanksgiving in Connecticut?" Emily asked, opening up the Thai food bag and taking the food out.
Sue popped the bottle open and grabbed the two wine glasses that were already on the counter, "I know what you mean. I need to make my way out to Amherst to see my parents more, too." Sue said, pouring wine in each glass. "Thanksgiving was okay. A bit overwhelming since this is the first time we saw his family since getting engaged, so his family was going crazy with excitement the whole time. I'm honestly happy to be home and with you, actually. I just... I needed a break."
"A break?" Emily asked, opening up the food containers and putting one of everything on each of their plates. "A break from who, or what exactly?" Emily knew but acted oblivious.
"James." Sue said, shaking her head in annoyance, "He was just a lot these past few days and then his family on top of that, I just need my space tonight."
Emily tried not to smile about the fact that Sue would rather be with her than James right now. "Did you want to stay here tonight?" Emily asked, biting her lip for a split second, "You know, since you need a little bit of space from all of that."
"Do you mind?" Sue asked, handing Emily one of the wine glasses.
Emily shook her head and took the glass from Sue and took a sip, "Of course I don't mind."
