It had been one of the busiest weeks at work for Emily and Sue in a long time. With covid becoming more of a serious situation, Emily had to continuously write updates which had to go through Sue quickly in order for the articles to go up in a timely manner. Emily was tired. Sue was tired. They were absolutely swamped at work.

All of that aside—they did not forget that girl's weekend that Emily had mentioned earlier in the week. Sue had talked to James about it and he told Sue to have fun and enjoy herself. It was that easy with James and he wasn't suspecting of anything going on between the two girls.

Thinking about leaving James scared Sue—she didn't want to break his heart, but she also didn't want to break her own heart and be with someone she wasn't one hundred percent sure about. Her heart told her that she was all for Emily but her guilty conscience was getting to her. She knew she had to leave James and she'd have to do it sooner than later because who knows how long Emily is going to wait for her. Not knowing scared Sue. She didn't want to break James' heart and she didn't want to break Emily's—it was a very tough situation.

It was Saturday morning and Sue had just finished packing her overnight bag for Emily's place. As she walked out of the bedroom, James looked at her and smiled.

"I'll miss you tonight." He said, leaning into kiss Sue. She hesitantly kissed him back and he noticed. "Is everything okay, Sue? I feel like something is off."

Sue looked at James and her heart started beating fast. She knew she was probably turning red, but she tried her best to suppress that.

"Everything's fine, James." Sue said, smiling at him. "What seems off?"

James shrugged, "I feel like there's been a lack of affection from you lately."

Sue inhaled sharply, flashbacks of Emily and her together intimately flooding her brain. She shook her head, "I'm sorry you feel that way. Wo—work has just been incredibly stressful. I just want to shut myself out when I get home."

He nodded his head in understanding, putting his hand on Sue's shoulder and rubbing it slowly, "You know I'm here for you, babe."

She knew that, but he's not what she wanted or needed—honestly. It was Emily. It was Emily that she wanted to be with when she was feeling stressed out, it was Emily she wanted to get affection from, it was Emily who she wanted—period.

"I know," Sue finally said, a small smile on her face. "Thank you, James." She threw her overnight bag back over her shoulder and walked up and gave James a kiss on the cheek, "Maybe this girls weekend will help get me out of this funk."

She lied. She knew she was lying. She knew it was James that was the cause and not work. Yes, work was absolutely stressful but it wasn't the cause of why Sue was acting this way. It was Emily—she was in so deep with her at this point that now she was feeling guilty of betraying Emily instead of James. Sue wasn't just falling for Emily anymore; she was in love with Emily. It took her a while to finally see that but being away from her for most of the month of January really opened her eyes to how much she truly loved her.

Sue started heading for the door and James grabbed her arm gently and pulled her close to him, giving her one last kiss before she took off. "Have fun."

Sue nodded as a thank you and took off out of their apartment and started making her way to Emily's apartment not too far away from her own. It was looking like it was going to be a cruddy weekend weather wise—it had been drizzling on her walk over to Emily's place.

When she arrived, she pressed the buzzer up to Emily's apartment and Emily quickly buzzed her into the building. Sue made her way up to Emily's unit and was about to knock on the door but Emily opened it before she could.
