Colonial America - April of 1614A few years have passed sense we learned to grow and harvest corn. Not much has happened, just us expanding farther out. John Rolfe's tobacco has helped the money situation greatly, but it still won't be enough to get the Virginia Company out of the debt they're in. I was out in a small farm area planting more corn.
It was peaceful out. Things started looking up for the colony. I looked over, my son was standing there. He came running up to me.
"DAD!" He yelled as he ran over to me.
"What? What is it?" I asked him.
"Th-the natives..." He said, panting from all the running, "th-they... John Rolfe... native girl..." Virginia just about collapsed, but I caught him before he fell.
"Um... what?" I asked.
Virginia took a deep breath before explaining, "John Rolfe, he and the daughter of Chief Powhatan are getting married!"
I flinched a bit from surprise. Then realized something, "This... this could bring an official peace between us and the Powhatan!"
Virginia nodded vigorously then said, "I believe they said the name of the native girl he was marrying was... Pocahontas? Yeah, Pocahontas!"
"I remember Pocahontas," I said. Virginia raised an eyebrow, I continued, "she was the native that saved John Smith when he was captured by the Powhatan years ago!"
"The wedding will be soon." Virginia told me.
"Well, why don't we go and lend a hand to the couple, after all they have done quite a bit for Jamestown!" I said as we began walking towards he settlement. It was packed over in the church. There were colonist and natives all in one place together. And the best part, no one was fighting! It was amazing! I walked in to see men and women seated and praying around the alter. There were a few kids playing quietly in the corner together. I don't believe it has ever felt so lively in this colony. It was beautiful, the entire church was decorated for the event. There was a priest stand near an arch in the front, and there were people preparing to play their instruments. I look down to Virginia. He looked so happy and excited. I couldn't blame him, this was probably one of the best things to happen sense learning to harvest our own corn, which believe me was a major accomplishment for us.

Virginia - A few hours later
A few hours passed and the wedding slowly came to an end. I mainly spent my time watching some of the natives make faces over our traditions we have. The only thing that kept me awake was one little native kid who was playing around with occasional little bursts of laughter. He wanted to so badly go over to him and talk, but I didn't want to interrupt the ceremony either, so I just stayed put. I sighed as the couple was finally pronounced married in holy matrimony and what not. I shot up immediately as the event ended. I was tried of sitting around. I went up to one of the natives.
"Hi!" I said excitedly.
The native looked at me strangely, then said something in a language I did not understand.
I stood there for a while with a puzzled look on my face, then finally said, "What..."
We both looked at each other awkwardly, neither of us understood what the other was saying. I chuckled awkwardly as I started to leave. 'Welp, there goes any plan I had of making friends with the Indians...' I though to myself as I walked back. I saw my father talking with John Rolfe. They both seemed pretty happy. I looked around and saw some natives with some of the settlers. The natives seemed to have been showing them hunting tips from what I could understand. It seemed like everyone was finally getting along._ _
Colonial America - 1616
It has been just a few year sense the marriage of John Rolfe and Pocahontas, the word is that the couple is headed to go back to England soon. The ship will be setting sail soon. I was about to head inside to tell Virginia to go say farewell to the couple, when I noticed him leaning against a nearby tree. He was writing in his journal.
"Hey, Virginia what do you say we go and say goodbye to John and Pocahontas?" I asked.
He looked up, "Their leaving already?!"
I nodded as we head towards the docks to wave farewell.
