Virginia - March 1622

"Hey, V! What's up?" A voice yelled from behind me. I looked back to see my new brother, Massachusetts. He was wearing a green buttoned up coat, black breeches with a white cravat and stockings. He had curtain bangs with his hair and had green eyes that matched his coat. His face bore the same flag as mine. We had made nicknames for each other, he called me V and I called him Mass. I didn't usually see him around that much sense he had his own problems at his own colony. It has only been about 2 years sense he just appeared falling out of the sky. He can be a little hot headed, but I try not to let that get on my nerves, I mean it's not like he can help it.

"Hey Mass!" I replied waving to him, "Not much, you?"
He sighed saying, "A lot..."
I chuckled, "Oh, I know that feeling well... Say, do you wanna go over to my house and get something to eat?"
"Sure, why not?" He replied.
We walked past house and house, I looked at Mass. He looked like he was in a dream. He new and hasn't had much of a chance to expand this much. We finally reached home and father was inside, he was cooking lunch. We both sat down at the table.

Dad looked over from where the food was and turned towards us, "Hey you two, what've you guys been up to?"
"We've just been hanging out together," Mass replied, "I'll be having to head back to my colony soon though, don't wanna come back to it in ruins!" He said the last part as a joke, but we all knew it was fully possible. Dad then sat the food on the table and we all began to eat. We all joked and laughed as we ate at the table, this was one of the first times it hadn't been silent. Every now and then a comment would be thrown and Mass freak out over it, but I have come to find that's totally normal for him. As soon as we finished eating me and Mass shot up and ran outside. We were racing to the entrance to the settlement, a race which I was winning. But then, I froze. I heard something. Unsure of what it was I cautiously approached the area that the sound had come from.

Mass noticed my change in pace and asked, "V? What are you doing?"
I didn't answer, just signaled him to follow. He looked around confused, then decided to follow me. We took a few steps toward the bushes, when we heard the sound from the bush again. Mass grabbed my shoulder and shook his head. I stopped and decided not to venture further. But as soon as I turned around a large group of native shot out, weapons in hand. Mass and I both let out a yelp as we ran off to the house.

We shot through the settlement, until we made it to the house we were staying at. As soon as we came in as slammed the door shut. Dad looked back at us with a face mixed with confusion and worry.
"What the heck are you two doing now?" Father asked.
"The N-native! T-they're a-attacking again!" I told him.
"'Again'?!" Mass repeated, "Do you mean to tell me this is normal?!"
"Do you want a honest answer?" I replied.
"You two stay here," Father said as he grabbed a musket from off the wall, "I'll be right back."
"W-where are you going?!"
"I need to help the other colonist!" Father yelled in reply, leaving Mass and I in the room.

I ran out the door, musket in hand. Just when I think the natives are done attacking the settlement, they just come right back! I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself. It was working, or at least it was that is until I heard the sounds of screaming coming from nearby.
