Warning... you have been warned
Colonial America - Same day
I look behind, there stood a native with the colonist in a head lock position. The shard end of the natives spear far too close to the poor mans neck.
"Hey... hey now..." I started, trying to reason with the Natives, "we don't have to fight, just put your weapons down..."
I took a step forward and the Native tensed, moving the sharp point closer to the man. I stepped back, noticing this.
I heard a faint click. I looked to my side, I saw one of the men who came with me start to load his gun. I gulped, knowing what would happen. I shook my head no, praying that he wouldn't shoot the native. We all knew the concept of "Blood Law" and we don't want to go down that road again. But then again, there are those colonist who choose not to think before they act. As you can guess, this man was one of those. He shot his gun with a loud BANG! I flinched from the sound, I looked over. The colonist was okay and unharmed, but the native... I looked away, I couldn't stand the sight. I tried to make up excuses in my mind that could justify our situation, but I knew deep down that it was fully and entirely on our hand. Something that I would have to live with. It was already too late to turn back now, we had to continue moving on. We had a job to do.

Virginia - 1619
Another year is gone, and our conflicts with the Algonquian Indians have remained the same. I've heard that a large amount of them have died, but not from our weapons, but from our diseases. I sigh as I place me journal on my nightstand. Soon I'll be needing a new one, but that's for another time. I get up and find dad getting breakfast ready. It was strange seeing him in the house at this time. Usually he would be out hunting, or helping fend off natives.
My dad looked up and over towards me, he smiled and then said, "Hey Virginia! What's up?"
I smiled back and said, "Hi dad, not much. What are you doing home? You're usually out."
Father chuckled softly, "Well I wanted to be there for the meeting today."
I raised a brow, "You've never been that interested in the meetings before..."
"Yes, well... this one is about a new form of government here, so it's important that I attend and so should you!"
A smile ran across my face. This was the first time I've actually been invited to one of these meetings! My father clearly noticed my excitement, and chuckled softly. He then brought the food to the table. We ate in mostly silence, when we finished eating I ran the dishes to the kitchen area. I looked back to my father who was getting ready to head out the door, I hurried to his side as we walked out. We went past a few houses as usual and ended up at the church. The meeting was huge! It seemed like everyone was there, which was probably because everyone was there. Father and a took a seat close up to the front so we could hear everything that was being said. Soon the meeting began.
It was mainly about, like father had said, what was to become of the government in the colony. I heard many people say that they wanted to vote in leaders for the colony, and others say that they wanted to elect burgesses. Many agreed withe these ideas, though they decided to hold off a bit for the burgesses. Soon the meeting ended and with it the creation of the "General Assembly".

Colonial America - Same day
We were returning home from the meeting, when I saw a ship dock nearby the settlement. A large group of people got out. I looked in discomfort as I saw them get out but with an added accessory, chains. I frowned, I never did really enjoy the concept of slavery. But I never brought it up, not wanting to start a conflict. There were around 50 slaves that came off those ships, I couldn't help but wonder about what horrible things they had to experience on their way here. It was hard to even think about. Barely all the slaves had gotten out and there was already a huge crowd, ready to auction. I let out a long sorrowful sigh and continued on my way.
