Chapter 3

Jack and Lisa arrived at Tim and Amy's Ranch House, as they walked in they found Tim had broken down Amy's door and he was laying on the floor inside Amy's room with a gash on his head. Jack walked in slowly looking around and Lisa was checking the other rooms.
"Amy, were here, where are you Amy".
Lisa checked Tim and put him in the recovery position, "Lisa, help me, she's over here covered in blood".
They both reached Amy and called the RCMP and an Ambulance for her, in his drunken state he'd obviously hit her or thrown her about.
The RCMP turned up and Jack and Lisa explained what happened, Tim was Arrested for ABH and others to do with Child Endangerment as Amy was under 18 years of age.
Once again Amy was back in hospital, but this time she'd been beaten up by her Alcoholic Father.
Jack phoned Lou and let her know what Tim had done, but as long as Amy wasn't at Deaths door and was going to recover Lou stayed in New York much to Jack's Anger and he made sure Lou knew Exactly how he felt at her lack of concern for her sister.
"How many time's did you do that to me Jack, but My own parents covered for you so you wouldn't get locked up, I swore I'd never come back to Heartland and you'd never see your Grandchildren after you put me in Hospital, even Mum and Dad warned you to never lay a finger on me. Dad's still grieving and no he shouldn't of hurt Amy, hopefully he'll get some help and he will be mortified when he finds out what he's done, but if you ever do that to Amy , I won't lie, you'll get locked up".
Jack slammed the phone down.
A week later Amy was back at Heartland, her cuts and Bruises healing slowly.

"Amy, pack your clothes up Love and stop with us in the Ranch House".
"Well Actually Lisa, Mum and Dad had the Loft in our Barn converted  into a four bedroom Apartment a year ago for me to move into, so I may as well move there now".
"Umm, not until your 18 Amy, that was the agreement ".
"Okay Grampa,  it was worth a try anyway, Oh , I don't want Lou and Peter thinking they can Just move into it when they turn up".
"Amy, your Mum was very definite about that, the Loft is yours and always will be, so Lou will not get her Hands on it, if she ever pays a visit, she couldn't be bothered to come see what your father did to you so don't hold your breath. Actually Lisa will you look after the keys please,  and so your aware it does have Alarms and security Cameras fitted".
"How did you get the Keys Grampa and the security code, Dad had them".
"Don't question me Amy, we'll do this My way".
"Okay, I only asked a question  Grampa.".
(A few seconds later Lisa got a message with the security code from Jack.)
"You can stay in this room Amy, until your Birthday, and Lou can stop at Tim and Marion's place, when and if  she decides to turn up again ".
"Yeah, Soraya said Lou didn't stay long after Mum's Funeral".
"No she didn't, which didn't please your Father very much. After the Funeral she went to the Hospital to check on you then went back to New York".
"So she knew I was going to be okay then when she left".
Jack didn't say anything,  he Just looked at the floor.
"Grampa, please Just tell me".
"Okayyyy,  The Doctors told her that you were still Critical and it was 50/50 whether you'd survive, then she Just told your Dad to let her know if you didn't make it, she then went back to New York ".
"Wow , that was nice of her to not stick around ".
"I'm sorry Amy ".
"Well at least Jesse is still here so far, when does his Probation Finish Grandpa".
"Next week, how are things with you and Jesse anyway".
"Weird Grampa, has he met someone else by any chance, did he visit me in hospital when I was in a Coma".
"Honestly I don't know, did he visit you very often after you woke up".
"Twice Grampa, that's all. I nearly died and he pops in twice to see me for just ten Minutes".
"I'll try to find out what he's up to okay".
"Thank you Grampa".

At the end of the following week Amy was fuming with Jesse because she hadn't seen him, he hadn't answered any of Jacks questions about his plans for after the end of his probation or what his intentions were regarding Amy.
Amy got up the following morning and went over to the Loft above the old Barn. Jesse was gone . He'd left nothing behind, Amy fell on the bed and cried,  Jack could hear her sobbing upstairs when he walked in".
