Chapter 23

Amy walked in Maggie's and saw Soraya so sat at the counter.
"Hey Amy what you doin here, I thought we were meeting at Fairfield's".
"We were, are I mean".
"So why you in town".
"Just been to see Dr Virani and looks like this will be my Last Trail Ride for 7 months at least".
"7 Months!!, omg Amy, your ".
Ty walks in and see's them talking but also see's Amy getting upset.
"Yep, at least I will have something of Jordan, I took a test the morning of the Rodeo but I wanted him to concentrate,  so I was going to tell him after his ride, but I couldn't Soraya because he was dead".
Amy was sobbing and Soraya was holding her.
Ty felt really bad for Amy and the way he'd treated her before she went to University really made him think.
Ty still had feelings for her, so he decided he'd be there for her  maybe in three or four years things may change, but he'd wait for her no matter how long it took. Ty waited for Amy to come get her truck and it wasn't long.
As Amy approached her truck she saw Ty, "Hello Ty how are you".
"Okay thanks,  but I should be asking you really, I was so sorry to hear about your Husband Amy, I really am it must of been awful for you".
"Sniff, thank you Ty that means a lot coming from you".
"Yeah well in four years I've done a lot of growing up and I'd  like us to at least be friends if that's okay with you".
"Thanks Ty,  I'd like that especially with this little one on the way in 7 months".
"Really,  wow I bet Your husband was surprised ".
Ty saw Amy's demeanour change and he realised he'd said the wrong thing.
"I'm so sorry Amy if I said something I shouldn't have".
"It's okay Ty, I found out the morning he was going to ride, but I wanted him to concentrate on his ride so I was going to tell him after, but  I,  I  ne-never got the c-chance Ty".
He put his arms out and Amy fell into them as she cried,  she knew she would never forget that she hadn't said anything and he died without ever knowing he was going to be a father. That was what was hurting Amy the most.

Eventually  she thanked Ty and left to go to Fairfield ,  Soraya couldn't make it thanks to her mother changing her mind at the last minute..
Lisa had gone out, forgetting that Amy was coming over.
When Lisa got back she asked her head stableman if the girls got off okay after remembering while she was out.
"Actually it was Just miss Amy, her Friend couldn't make it".
"Oh no, how long has she been gone, this weather seems to be changing".
"At least two hours miss".
"Okay we'll keep an eye on the time and the weather".
"Okay miss Lisa I'll do that".
"Thank you Carl".
Lisa had tried to get Carl to Just call her Lisa but for some reason he didn't seem to understand or that was the way he was raised. All Lisa knew was that Carl was the best Head Stableman she had ever had.

Amy was out Just walking taking it slow in one of her own little worlds high in the clouds thinking of Jordan  and the way he made love to her,   always held her arm when out, or she'd slip her arm through his. All the little things that she loved so much about him.
There was a crack of thunder that brought Amy back to the present and she saw the storm, the horse started to rear so Amy tried to get him under control but nothing was working so Amy slipped off him and a lightning strike hit the ground not far away which made him head for home.
The wind got up and then the Rain lashed down soaking Amy in seconds, Amy saw an overhang not far back so headed for it. Amy realised that after four years away she'd forgotten to do the one thing she always used to do and that was to check the weather forecast before she went out riding.
The overhang wasn't that good, it did offer some protection from the rain but not the wind and cold. She tried her phone but got nothing,  no signal, not even an emergency signal. Amy found some Fern branches right at the back and they were dry,  she made a bed but tried to make it deeper in the middle so the sides would be higher and offer protection from the wind and cold air, it helped but not a lot.

"Miss Lisa, the horse Miss Amy took came back without her".
