Chapter 31

Tim was fuming with the stupidity of of his Father in law. As the Officer's were about to leave Tim spoke up
"Hang on a minute Officer's, how did the person know his Mobile Phone Number, and why ask Jack, I'm Amy's Father".
"Your right Mr Fleming, I think we need to talk to Mr Bartlett again".
Jack was Just about to sit and drink his coffee when the Officer's knocked his Door, Jack opened it and invited them back in.
"Mr Bartlett we have a question for you, how did they know your Mobile number, we think that this is someone you know and that's why there using an electronic voice. Are you sure this isn't the same person as five yrs ago, why ask you for the Ransom and not her Father.
They said ask the Bank, which means we're back to a Foreclosure notice if you can't pay the payment's".
"Is that what you think this is about".
"Well would anyone think you have that sort of money, and usually we find they ask the Father or Mother of someone they know has that sort of Money, would Jesse Stanton know your Mobile Number".
"Yes he would from when he worked here for his probation".
"Okay let's put some wanted posters out with a mug shot and start looking at off the road property's between here and Calgary".
The RCMP went off to start looking for somewhere fairly local to Heartland.
They also started looking for a number in Jacks phone but it was withheld and Jack obviously answered without looking. So looked at phone Masts and which mast was the nearest to the call.

The following morning Amy woke up and her hand was hurting so much she looked and found her hand bandaged in a haphazard way and soaked in blood, then she remembered screaming and being tied up and feeling pain.
"Omg they didn't please".
Amy immediately checked on Jordyn who was fine.
Then she remembered what happened yesterday.
"Someone walked in holding a gun at Jordyn and recording on there phone. When they spoke it was electronic, and told Amy to sit down.
After a while they sprayed something at Amy and she fell asleep. When she woke up again they'd gone and she was on her own with Jordyn in a lot of pain

The following day Jack grabbed his post and went back to the house for coffee and breakfast ,he looked through his post but there was nothing interesting.
Tim walked down to see Jack about some of the Cattle and they were both drinking coffee though things were strained between them when a delivery carrier knocked the door with a parcel. Jack signed for it and brought it inside.
"I have no Idea what this is".
"Wait a minute Jack, what's that on the underneath of the box, ('Jack turned it over' ) it looks like Blood ".
Tim phoned the RCMP who informed him that the two Officers were already on there way to them.
Jack Just sat there looking at the box and Tim was staring at Jack.
"If my youngest Daughter and or Granddaughter are dead because of you I'll Bury you somewhere on your beloved 600 Acres Jack".
"I'll dig the hole for you Tim".
Tim was very surprised by Jacks remark.
The RCMP officers turned up and agreed that under the box did look like Blood, they checked the box and knowing it was safe they opened it.
It was full of cotton wool until they got half way and there in the box was the cause of the blood at the bottom of the box, a Finger, an adult woman's Little Finger.
In the box was a CD, they all went into the living room and Tim put the CD on
and waited, then Tim saw his daughter laying on a table and slowly Amy was waking up.
When she realised she was tied up and saw the Secateurs in the person's hands she screamed blue murder for them not to do it. The electronic voice said that this was punishment for Jacks sins and someone had to pay.
The screaming got worse until Amy passed out from pain and the sound of snipping..
Then the video changed to Amy's hand badly bandaged and bloody and little Jordyn asleep in her cot.
"That S.O.B cut her bloody Finger off " They made one mistake sending the box by carrier, they hopefully could find out what area they were in.
