Chapter 30

Two day's went by and the RCMP  couldn't find anything. They looked at the file fom 5 yrs ago and started looking into Jesse Stanton.
Ty and Soraya were both scared for Amy and the Baby.
The following morning there was a bunch of letters in Jacks post box which Tim had transferred to the otherside of the driveway which was Jacks Land.
Jack picked up his post with his usual  "Humpf" and drove back to the House, the first thing was to switch on the Coffee Machine,  he sat down and was going through his post when he saw an Envelope which Just had JACK on it, ( in cut out pieces of letters from a Newspaper ) .
He wasn't sure what to do, he didn't want police all inside his house so he opened it, the letter inside was made the same way with cut out Text.

IF YOU WANT TO SEE YOUR GRANDDAUGHTER AND GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER AGAIN , I WANT
$4 MILLION , YOU HAVE 5 DAYS OR WILL SEND HER BACK IN PIECES. WILL PHONE YOU IN 5 DAYS.

Jack looked at the price and thought there's no way he's paying that,  Jack assumed they'd just let em go if he doesn't answer them.( Typical Jack trying to ignore the problem).
Jack walks to his Barn and tacks up his horse to check on the heard as Tim did a quick check this morning.
The RCMP had phoned Val Stanton to ask where Jesse was but she hadn't seen him for years, they tried checking his name with Banks to see if they could find a paper trail.
The Detectives decided he must be using another Name.

Tim saw Jack riding towards him.
"Any news Tim".
"No, you heard or recieved anything ".
"Nah, she's your Daughter ".
Five days later Jack recieved a call on his Mobile, Jack was wondering how he or they knew his Number.
The voice was electronic,
"Do you have the money ".
" What, I haven't got that sort of money,  ask her Father, I'm Just the Grandfather ".
" You could of asked the Bank for help, so what happens next is on you Old Man, that is what Tim Fleming calls you right".
The phone call ended.
Jack wasn't sure what they meant and wished they'd leave him out of it.
As Jack approached the Barn he thought he ought to say something. "Hey Tim, had a call off whoever took Amy and they wanted $4 Million, I told em not to ask me, I ain't got that sort of money, cheeky blighter said I should of asked the Bank".
Jack carried on into his Barn, Tim was thinking of what Jack Just said to him
"They've already been intouch with the old coot, HEY JACK".
"What".
Jack found himself laying in a load of Hay and Horse shit inside his horses Stable.
"I asked you a few days ago if you'd heard anything and you said No, they must of been in touch to tell you that you could of asked the Bank for the money, so when did they contact you Jack".
"What the hell Tim, what you on about".
"You said and Quote ' I ain't got that sort of money, cheeky blighter said I should of asked the Bank',  which means that they've been in touch before".
Tim walked off and knew he was right so phoned the RCMP.

Two hours later they knocked on Tim's door.
"Hi Officers please come in, did you find anything out".
"Yes we did Mr Fleming   please sit down and try to calm down,  now Mr Bartlett did receive a letter five Days ago, this is the letter, I've put it in a plastic sleeve hoping Mr Bartlett hasn't messed up any evidence".
Tim Read the letter, and he looked at the officers.
"That's what we were concerned about Mr Fleming,  Mr Bartlett  may have cost your Daughter her life including your Granddaughter's because he didn't tell us about the letter.
"I'm gonna kill him, you'd better stop me".
