In a world where faith is already written, when one turns eighteen years old they are gifted with a unique tattoo on the wrist that only one other person in the world has and that is destined to be your soulmate.

Riiiiiingggg. The school bell rang and noisy teenagers filled the now crowded hallways. Hongjoong stepped out of his classroom to be greeted by a group of boys running into him. "Oh, sorry!" the boy apologised as he ran away, chasing his friends, "Yeonjun you jerk!"

And once again, Hongjoong was left all alone. He walked quietly to his locker, which was unfortunetly at the end of the hallway. He clenched his books tightly in his hands and held them up to his chest as he walked past large group of teenagers. Oh how he wanted to be a part of a group like that.

He opened his locker door and began stacking his books. It was moments like this that made him regret choosing a top locker. He stood on his tippy toes and reached up to grab a book from the top shelf when a figure stood over him, and grabbed the book he was reaching for. Hongjoong looked up and saw a tall boy handing him the book. "Oh, thanks Mingi." Hongjoong smiled shyly. Hongjoong shut his locker and the two boys began waling side by side down the hallways. Hongjoong awkwardly repositioned his glasses and looked at the boy next to him.

"How was class Hyung?" The other boy, Mingi spoke, a large smile plastered on his face.

Hongjoong just shrugged in response, focusing his gaze onto the floor. "Same as usual I guess."

"Aren't you excited that your birthday is tomorrow? You'll finally meet your soulmate like you've always wanted."

"Of course I'm excited Mingi! I would be so surprised if they were right under my nose this whole time."

His next class was the one class he was looking forwards to the entire day, music. Hongjoong always loved music class, he was the definition of a musical genius. The two boys enter the classroom and take their seats at the front. Music was the only class he had with his one and only friend Mingi but it was also a class he had a certain other person. Students quickly start filing into the classroom and not long after, their teacher stalks in.

The classroom door was swung open and a group of three students walk in. Just by their appearance, they were no good. They stalked in, hands in pockets and uniforms a mess. The teacher sighed at the sight of the three boys. They took their seats at the very back row. One of the three, the one leading the other two took the seat closest to the window and when he sat down, he rested his head on the table, looking out the window.

"At least they bothered to come today." the teacher sighed in defeat and began teaching the class. Just when class was about to finish the teacher eyed the classroom full of students. "We're going to begin assessment next lesson so come prepared, I'm also going to be assorting you into pairs."

The boy at the back let out an obnoxiously loud yawn, getting the attention of the whole class and the teacher. The teacher cleared her throat loud enough for the boy to notice and he looked up to meet her stern eyes. "Park Seonghwa. Could you please repeat what I just said?"

Riiiiiingggg. The bell rang and the boy stood up. "Whatever." He said as he walked out of the classroom, running a hand through his soft ash-brown hair. The two boys he was with followed right after him.

"That brat. He's going to get in trouble one of these days." The teacher stared after the boy and quickly turned her attention back to her class, "Okay, that's it for today's class. Make sure to be here next lesson."

"That guy's a real pain in the ass." Mingi and Hongjoong collectively stood up and began packing up their things.

"Aren't you like friends with him or something?" Hongjoong looked up to meet Mingi in the eyes. Instead of the answer he was after, Mingi just scoffed and replied with, "God no. I hate that guy's guts."

"Isn't your boyfriend his best friend?" Hongjoong gathered his things and the two left the classroom.

"Look... Hongjoong. If you're looking for a way to get close with him... I don't recommend it. You've seen his awful personality. I don't know what's so good about him that you've liked him for this long. You're just going to get your heartbroken, he already has his soulmate marking." They finally reach their lockers and before Hongjoong could respond to what Mingi had said, another tall boy came running in their direction. The boy ran towards Mingi, dropping an arm around neck, then pulling him in and giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Hey babe. Wanna hang with my group today at lunch?"

Mingi looked at Hongjoong and then back at his boyfriend, "Sure Yunho, but can Hongjoong Hyung come too?" Yunho looked at the said boy before returning a welcoming smile. Hongjoong showed Yunho a grateful, shy smile before following him and Mingi to the cafeteria. The moment they entered the room, Hongjoong was overwhelmed with the large crowd, usually him and Mingi would eat outside. The three of them began approaching a table at back of the room and Hongjoong stopped, tugging on Mingi's blazer sleeve. "Hey um... on second thought I don't think I can do this. I've never said a word to him and now I have to sit at the same table as him?"

Mingi just rolled his eyes as he placed his large hand on Hongjoong's back and pushed him forward. When they reached the table, Yunho was quick to grab Mingi and seat him next to him. Hongjoong looked around the group of boys. At the end of the table sat Seonghwa, laid back in his chair and feet up on the table.

"Ya! Hongjoong Hyung! Come take a seat!" Mingi waved Hongjoong to sit next to him. He shuffled over and took his seat... across from the one man he didn't want to see, Seonghwa.

A/N: HI guys, so sorry that this chapter kinda ended abruptly. I wasn't really sure how I was going to end this chapter but what's done is done. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this chapter and I will try to be consistent with updates but I am also working on three other stories while I'm working on this so no promises. I'm also kinda known for forgetting about books I've started but since I'm on school holidays now I should be able to write more. ;)
