Hongjoong skipped down the road and approached the arcade. As he approached, he noticed Seonghwa standing by himself at the entrance. He looked at his wrist watch and it was the meeting time. 'I guess the others are running late?' Hongjoong thought.

He stopped skipping and timidly approached the boy. As he got closer he couldn't help but admire Seonghwa. He was dressed in a casual red hoodie and black jeans, his face shining from the glow of the sun.

"Hey." Seonghwa simply said. Hongjoong nodded in response. 'Why is he here alone?' Hongjoong was so nervous being alone with Seonghwa he could feel his heart beating right out of his chest.

As if Seonghwa could read Hongjoong's mind, he spoke. "Everyone else is running late I guess." His voice trailed off at the end but he remained looking at the boy in the eyes. Hongjoong's phone buzzed in his pocket. He payed no attention to Seonghwa who was still staring at him, as he took his phone out and read the message he had received.

@KimJoongie
Okay, bye lix

Hongjoong smiled and put his phone away, blushing at the cute nickname. He looked up and saw Seonghwa still standing there, staring at him. "What?" Hongjoong asked, staring back at the boy. Seonghwa blinked rapidly, snapping himself back to reality. "Sorry. Do you want to go inside?" Seonghwa asked and Hongjoong nodded his head in response.

The two walked into the arcade, Hongjoong walking a little behind the other, eyes on the floor. They approached the register and Seonghwa bought them passes. Hongjoong was a flustered, blushing mess as he followed Seonghwa through the arcade. Seonghwa stopped at the motorcycle racing game. He took a seat on one of the bikes and looked over at Hongjoong behind him. He smiled warmly at the timid boy, patting the seat of the bike next to him.

Hongjoong waddled over to the bike. "Wanna play a few rounds before the others get here?" Seonghwa asked, his smile never faulting.

"I'd like that." Hongjoong replied as he took his seat on the bike next to Seonghwa.

Nearly two hours went by and Hongjoong was having the time of his life. They had played almost all of the games. Hongjoong never thought that he would be having this much fun with Seonghwa. It was one of the best birthdays he had ever had.

The sun was setting, the golden light kissed Seonghwa's beautiful face as the two walked out of the arcade and down the busy city streets. "It's getting late, I'll walk you home." Seonghwa suggested and Hongjoong nodded. For the past two hours, Hongjoong couldn't stop smiling. He was turning an unfiltered shade of red as they walked side by side to his house. The moon was nearly out by the time that reached the outside of his house.

"Thanks so much for today, I had a lot of fun. It's a bit sad no one else was able to make it. But uh... do you want to come in for dinner? It's getting late and I feel and for keeping you out all day." Hongjoong suggested, his face returning to that red state. Seonghwa nodded and Hongjoong lead him into his house.

"Mom?" Hongjoong called out into the pitch black room. It was oddly quiet in the house. All of the lights were out and his mom hadn't told him she was going out. They walked into the darkness of the living room. Seonghwa quietly followed behind the lost Hongjoong around the living room. Th eeriness and silence of the house was making Hongjoong feel scared and uncomfortable.

He was suddenly stopped in his tracks when the lights turned on and streamers and confetti flew through the air.

"Happy Birthday!"
