Long chapter ⚠️
Park Seonghwa was a man known for his hatred towards the soulmate markings. On his birthday in April, his marking appeared as a small music note. It was said that he was so furious that he punched a hole in one of the classroom walls during class when a girl had approached and asked about it.
Hongjoong awkwardly shuffled in his seat. He sat quietly, taking small bites of his sandwich, drowning in the noise of the crowds. For a while, Hongjoong had felt a strong gaze watching him. He finally brought up the courage to look up and met the eyes off Seonghwa. His lips curved up into a light smirk as Hongjoong quickly reverted his attention back to his food.
"Hey Hongjoong hyung." Hongjoong looked up and was met with the sweet smile of Yunho. How is this guy friends with Seonghwa? They're so different. Hongjoong let his thoughts wander before bringing his attention back to the boy in front of him. "We're having a party at my place this evening. You're more than welcome to join us."
Hongjoong warily looked at Mingi seated beside him who gave him a slight nod and smile. He hesitantly looked looked up at Seonghwa who had places his legs over the table and had his arms crossed over his chest. He looked at Hongjoong with a lifted eyebrow.
"Of course he's coming." Seonghwa let out a scoff as he spoke.
And that's how Hongjoong found himself standing in front of his closet on the phone with Mingi. "I seriously have no idea what to wear! What's even the dress code?" Hongjoong had spent almost an hour just staring at his clothes before finally deciding to call Mingi.
"Calm down hyung. I'm almost there. Yunho's parties are always so casual. It's kinda like a college party if you can imagine what that looks like. You'd want to look fancy to impress others but not too fancy if you get what I mean."
"No Mingi, I don't"
"Just open your door. I'm waiting outside."
Hongjoong made his way downstairs, swinging the door open and dragging Mingi in by the wrist.
"Calm down hyung."
"We don't have time to calm!" Hongjoong, still dragging Mingi, entered his room and placed Mingi in front of his closet, "Now do your work."
Mingi stared at the options. He pulled out a light blue fuzzy sweater but immediately put it back. Going through the clothes, Hongjoong mostly had sweaters and light denim jeans. Nothing screamed "sexy" like Mingi had hoped for.
Eventually, Mingi pulled out a fuzzy beige sweater. Pairing it with some black jeans he found all the way stashed at the back of the closet. He added a statement jean jacket and handed it to Hongjoong. "Here, try this."
Once Hongjoong was dressed, Mingi styled his hair, parting it in the middle and finished off with decorating Hongjoong in all kinds of accessories he bought with him, a long silver necklace, bracelets, rings and earrings. Mingi took a step back and admired his creation. "Aw hyung you look so cute."
When they pulled up to the house, Hongjoong was so overwhelmed. It was almost as if Yunho had invited the whole school to this party. There were teenagers everywhere. Mingi took Hongjoong's hand and lead them through the large crowds. They finally made it the outside porch where the group were hanging out. Hongjoong's eyes were immediately caught by Seonghwa. He was standing against the wall but he wasn't his usual, 'bad boy' self. He had a giant smile plastered on his face as he hung his arms around Wooyoung laughing with the others.
Hongjoong was immediately love struck. The other boy paid no attention to him but just watching him have fun with his friends was all be needed in that moment. Eventually Mingi noticed Hongjoong standing by himself and slowly approached him. He nudged him on the shoulder as he spoke, "Go talk to him. He's the one that wanted you here after all." Mingi' lips lifted in a smile and he winked at the boy as he walked off with Yunho. Eventually Wooyoung, San and Yeosang left as well, waving goodbye to their hyung who still wanted some air.
Hongjoong took this opportunity to approach him. Just looking at him gave him so much butterflies he swore his stomach would fly away if he didn't calm down. Seonghwa wore a black button up shirt, loosely tucked into a pair of black jeans and his black hair slicked back. He looked so hot but the smile on his face showed a side to him Hongjoong had never seen in the three years he admitted his feelings towards him. Seonghwa was so astonishing in his eyes. It wasn't the bad boy facade that he fell in love with but it was more a mystery as to why he even liked him.
"Oh hey Hongjoong." Seonghwa's voice rang in his mind bringing him back to reality. His legs had subconsciously carried him towards the boy. "Oh... um... hi..." the butterflies were so real Hongjoong felt it take over his entire body. Seonghwa's bright smile was replaced with his all too familiar smirk. He raised his eyebrow slightly, showcasing the prominent slit across it.
Seonghwa stepped closer towards the Hongjoong, the anxiety growing with every step. Seonghwa stopepd inches away from the boy and began eyeing him, up and down. He tilted his head and smiled a smirk at at the boy. "Let's head in." Seonghwa spoke in a soft whisper. He could've just said so, why did he have to whisper all sexily! Hongjoong mentally slapped himself and quickly followed after the boy who had already began making his way inside.
They eventually find the rest of the group by the kitchen. "Hey San, has Jongho replied to you yet? I don't want to start anything until he's here." Yunho asked in which San replied with, "He's almost here."
"Perfect, let's get this party started!" Yunho cheered and the boys followed suit.
