Hongjoong was looking forward to the date with Felix that afternoon. It had been a while since he last went on a date. Freshman year to be exact. It hadn't gone out exactly as he had hoped.
That day was a rainy, windy, outright awful day. He had asked out a senior he had a senior he had a crush on but turned out he was just a jerk the whole time so he had stayed away from dating anyone and the whole soulmate thing was really starting to get to him. He just needed a fun day out after school.
After getting changed at home, Hongjoong made his way towards the mall where he agreed to meet Felix. The blonde male was leaning against the wall near the movie cinema, his attention on his phone and his body shrunken timidly. Hongjoong smiled to himself at the other's cuteness.
"Hey, Lix!" he called out the other's name once he was close enough. The blond looked up from his phone and as he made eye contact with the older, his face lit up in the brightest smile as he waved him over. Hongjoong pulled him into a tight hug, his chin resting on the younger's shoulder. When they pulled apart, Hongjoong smiled when he noticed the red that dusted Felix's cheeks and ears.
"So, what would you like to do?" Hongjoong asked, looking around the mall for something they could do.
"Why don't we watch a movie and then hit the arcade?"
"Sounds lovely. Let's do it." Hongjoong took Felix's hand in his, excitedly and skipped towards the movie cinema.
"That- that was... so sad!" Felix cried into his sleeve and Hongjoong held on tightly to his hand, pulling towards the food court. After a long movie about a high school romance that lead to heartbreak, Hongjoong found himself feeling just a little bit closer to Felix. He couldn't help the blush that creeped up his cheeks every time Felix rested his head on Hongjoong's shoulder whenever a sad scene would play.
The two found themselves seated in a booth by the corner of the food court, looking around at their options. In the end, they opted for Japanese ramen together. After lunch, Felix was so excited to go to the arcade he practically dragged the older along with him.
They spent hours enjoying each other's company at the arcade until eventually the sun had already disappeared and stars were shining brightly in the night sky. They walked side by side under the dim street lights into the city suburbs, passing by many expensive-looking houses. After a while, Felix stopped in a driveway, pulling Hongjoong to a stop as well. "Well, this is my house. Thank you for walking me home, hyung." Felix smiled shyly as he played with his fingers awkwardly.
"Well thanks for asking me out, I had a lot of fun." Hongjoong replied with a simple, close-lipped smile. "I would love to do it again, sometime. On me, this time." He added with a soft, mellow chuckle. At this, Felix blushed profusely. And to make him even more flustered, Hongjoong quickly leaned in to place a soft peck on the younger's cheek before retreating back.
"Goodnight, Lix." He said before sending the younger a small wave as he retreated into the house, looking back the whole time at the boy on the street. Hongjoong smiled to himself giddily as he hopped down the sidewalk towards his house. It was late at night and his house was a good twenty minute walk away from Felix's. So he pulled out his phone and put in his AirPods as he made the trip home. He didn't necessarily think to get a bus, it was only twenty minutes, he was sure it wouldn't be a problem. But soon, he started feeling uneasy. He had a strong feeling of being watched as he made his way down the road. He decided to call one of his friends to distract himself but unfortunately none of them picked up. He panicked when he heard footsteps behind him and the shadow on the concrete looming over him, tall and large. He broke into a speed-walk, hurrying his steps as he turned onto a main road. Unfortunately, it was that late that nobody was out on the streets. His breath quickened as so did his steps until suddenly a hand took hold of his wrist and pulled him to the side.
(Trigger warning: assault/harrassment/ sexual assault)
Everything was dark. A shadow loomed over him as his legs wobbled and his heart was racing. Fear crossed his mind at the realisation of the situation. He tried his best to hide his pain and tears as he was shoved against a brick wall and body much larger than his pressed against him. He felt disgusting as his neck became wet and sticky down to his collarbone. Hongjoong whimpered as he tried to break free of the strong hold on his body but failed at any chance he got. The man over him was much larger and way stronger than he was. His hands roamed Hongjoong's skin under his hoodie. Cold. So cold. And all Hongjoong could do was stand there and take it. His eyes shut tight to block out any of his senses.
Suddenly a loud sound was heard and Hongjoong flinched, tears finally breaking through. He no longer felt hands on him let alone a body looming over him. He fell to the floor, crying hysterically as he felt so disgusting. He felt a softer, gentler hand caress his cheek, urging him to open his eyes. Once he found the courage to, he was relieved yet surprised to see Seonghwa, squatting down to his level and a soft smile on his lips yet his eyes carried so much worry. Seonghwa took Hongjoong's hand in his and stood up slowly as to not scare the boy further. Hongjoong was helped onto his feet and Seonghwa immediately draped his jacket over Hongjoong's shoulders and held him close as he lead him out of the alley and into the Main Street. "Let me take care of you, Joong." Was all he said.
