Yunho lead the boys outside. It was just as pretty as the inside of the house, rose bushes lined the fences along the back and a large pool sat in the centre of the garden, the dim light illuminating the water and the palm trees.
They pushed past large groups of people on the deck. They reached a quieter area of the pool but Hongjoong could still feel eyes in their direction. Before he could process what was going on, everyone was shirtless and jumping into the pool.
Seonghwa slowly removed his leather jacket and then began unbuttoning his shirt, exposing his toned body and muscles. Seonghwa noticed Hongjoong staring smiled. "Aren't you getting in?" Hongjoong looked up at the boy, realising he was staring. "Oh sorry, yeah I'm coming." That was when Hongjoong noticed the tattoo on the Seonghwa's wrist. He always wore a jacket to cover it so Hongjoong had never actually seen his soulmate marking. It was a small, single music note. It's so pretty. Why does he hate it so much?
Hongjoong quickly stripped of his clothing, placing them on the couch on the deck, and slowly approached the pool. He sat down on the edge of the pool, splashing his feet to get used to the cool temperatures. Seonghwa notices Hongjoong and swam towards him. When he was close enough, he splashed Hongjoong in the face. "Come on, get in." Seongwha said with a smile. He then jumped, wrapping his arms around Hongjoong and pulled him into the pool. He struggled out of Seonghwa's grasp and reached the surface of the pool. "Sorry. You were taking too long." Seongwha laughed as Hongjoong shoved him in the chest. His face was red and he felt his heart beat quicker. He had never seen this side of Seonghwa and it made him fall in love with him even more.
"Whipped." Mingi whispered to Hongjoong who only hit the other on the arm. Mingi scrunched his face as he held his arm and walked away towards his own boyfriend.
Time flew and it was nearly midnight. Some people had left but it was still so crowded that Yunho still had trouble finding his way to his own kitchen. Everyone had split up by now. Mingi and Yunho were at the kitchen, stuffing their mouths and pockets with food. Mingi wondered why Yunho was stashing his pockets with food when he lived there. "Just watch. All of this will by gone by tomorrow and I'm going to have nothing left." Yunho replied, answering Mingi's inquiries. Wooyoung and San were still in the pool, probably making out while Jongho and Yeosang were talking to some other friends in the living room. Seongwha was nowhere to be seen and Hongjoong was quietly leaning against the wall outside on the deck. He scouted for anyone her knew but the truth was that he knew no one and no one wanted to know him. He was a complete outsider. It was as if no one really noticed him. After he sat with Seonghwa and his friends at lunch, he had gotten a few unwanted stares but no one approached him.
Hongjoong was in the middle of thinking when he noticed someone approaching him. He had never seen this guy before, no idea who he was. The guy came up to him and leaned on the wal next to him, folding his arms and crossing his ankles. "Hongjoong, right?" The boy asked. Hongjoong turned to look at him, eyeing him up and down. For sure, never seen him before.
"You've become quite the talk of the school recently." The boy continued, "one minute your nobody and then the next your hanging out with the school's most popular group. Of course this is going to start something. There's a rumour that Seonghwa likes you and that's why he invited you to this party. Obviously some people weren't too happy about that." The boy had Hongjoong's complete attention.
"I'm sorry, who are you?"
""Oh sorry." The boy extended his hand out, "the name's Felix. I ran into the other day on accident after I was chasing Yeonjunie-hyung."
"Oh, yeah I remember you. Nice to meet you Felix." Hongjoong reached his hand out to shake Felix's hand. He continued, "You're Wooyoung's friends right? I've seen you guys hang out." Felix nodded in response, letting go of Hongjoong's hand. They stand there in silence.
"I believe we're in the same music class. I'm actually two years younger than you but I got moved up a grade."
"Oh I'm sorry, I'm really bad at remembering people." Hongjoong apologised. He's never noticed Felix was in his class. Probably because he was too busy admiring someone else.
"Oh no it's okay. I'm not exactly the most out-there person in classes."
"I really don't know how you and Wooyoung are friends. You guys are so different." Hongjoong laughed and Felix smiled, a light chuckle leaving his lips. "You have such a beautiful voice Felix. I hope we get to be parters for the music assignment. I would love to work on something with you." Hongjoong looked Felix in the eyes and a slight blush creeped on his face. Felix slapped himself on the cheeks, "oh god, I'm all flustered now. By the way Hongjoong?" Hongjoong looked up at the boy and hummed a response. "Can I call you hyung?" Felix asked
Hongjoong immediately replied, "of course! Go ahead, Lix. We're friends now." Felix blushed at the new nickname.
"Okay sweet. I should get going. Chanie-hyung is probably looking for me." Felix began walking away, backwards so that he could still see Hongjoong. "See you later Hyung!" Felix waved goodbye and walked away into the house.
