Seonghwa opened the front door to his apartment and immediately turned on the every single light. He guided Hongjoong down the hallway and into the living room. He sat the boy down on the couch and squatted in front of him.
"Hey, look at me. You're okay, you're safe now." Seonghwa's hand lingered over Hongjoong's soft hair, hesitating, but he eventually committed, letting his fingers run through his smooth hair. Hongjoong was so out of it that he couldn't even register what was happening and that he was there with Seonghwa looking after him. More tears left Hongjoong's eyes as his hands clawed at his neck and chest and the way down his body where unwanted, cold hands once were.
"Let's get you cleaned up, yeah?" Seonghwa waited until Hongjoong nodded and made the move to stand and take Seonghwa's hand himself so he knew he was ready and lead him to the bathroom. He set up the tub with warm, soothing water and oils along with a flower scented, light blue bath bomb before leaving Hongjoong to himself. He left the bathroom and not too long later, returned with a set of brand new clothes and a towel. He set them on the counter and approached Hongjoong with a soft smile.
"How are you feeling?" Seonghwa was met with silence. "Better?" This time he was graced with a shrug from the younger. Seonghwa let out a soft smile as he looked down, "Not much of a talker today, huh? Well I guess you never seem to be a talker around me."
Hongjoong remained silent, bringing his knees up to his chest, feeling slightly exposed at the moment. "I'm sorry- I'll just leave you be."
"Don't... Don't go..." Hongjoong mumbled under his breath as he reached out for Seonghwa's hand before he could walk away. Seonghwa smiled and nodded as he sat back on the floor near Hongjoong.
Hongjoong stepped out of the bathroom dressed in pair of track pants and hoodie that were all way too big for him. Hongjoong's hands, hidden by the fabric of his sleeves covered his red face.
Seonghwa looked up at him from his seat on the kitchen island, putting his phone down the bench top. "Hey, I ordered some food, I hope you like sundae and tteobokki.
"Yeah, um.. thanks." Hongjoong said, fanning his heated face with his hands.
"How are you feeling?" Seonghwa tried asking again. He was happy when Hongjoong graced the older with a soft smile and a reply. "Better. Thank you... Seonghwa."
They opened the food and began eating in silence. Hongjoong didn't end up eating a lot, the event had ruined his appetite entirely he just wanted to sleep. Seonghwa must've sensed this from the younger as he stood up and began packing away the food.
"You can sleep in my bed, I'll take the couch." Seonghwa said as he began setting up his couch with blankets and pillows. He showed Hongjoong around in case he needed something over the night.
"Goodnight Joong, don't be afraid to wake me if you need something. And... although I might seem cold and scary, but I care about you. You've become a real friend." Seonghwa said before switching off the bedroom light, allowing Hongjoong to fall into slumber.
Only, he couldn't. Hongjoong just couldn't fall asleep. He stirred around, turning in every position but he just couldn't get comfortable. He still felt hands on him- lips on his neck. He felt hot and cold at the same time. He felt like like bawling his eyes out every time he closed his eyes. he hesitated waking Seonghwa but it got so unbearable that he threw the blankets off and padded out of the room and into the living room, only to see Seonghwa reading a book on the couch.
"Can't sleep either?" Seonghwa chuckled as he put his book down and smiled at the smaller.
"I just... don't want to be alone right now."
"Would you like me to stay with you?" Seonghwa suggested to which Hongjoong nodded timidly as he played with his fingers. When Seonghwa sat up and the blankets fell off him, Hongjoong couldn't help the way his eyes trailed over his exposed arms as the male was only wearing a singlet. The two entered Seonghwa's bedroom accompanied by the orange glow of the bedside lamps in the room.
"You have nothing to be scared off. I'll be right here until you fall asleep." Seonghwa said as he ran his fingers through Hongjoong's hair soothingly. Hongjoong eventually grew tired, his eyes closing shut. But before, the last thing he saw behind his marked wrist was another, identical to his.
But it was too late... he was already asleep.
