Hongjoong couldn't fall asleep afterwards so he pulled out his phone and scrolled through Instagram. That was when a particular account showed up on his feed, @parkseonghwa. He went into the profile and looked at some of the posts. There was no question, he was so handsome and his account had over a million followers. He clicked on the follow button and continued scrolling through his feed, every now and then a post by Seonghwa would appear and he wouldn't hesitate to like it.
He noticed Seonghwa shuffle next to him again. He looked over at him and saw him rub his sleepy eyes. It wasn't long until everyone was awake. Well, all except for Yunho who everyone tried to wake up but he wouldn't budge. It wasn't until his phone alarm rang that woke him up. They all laughed it off and went their separate ways to get ready for school.
Luckily, Hongjoong didn't live far from Yunho's. He was able to walk home, get ready and walk to school all in the span of an hour. He walked up to the school gates, tugging at his blazer sleeve to make sure it covered his marking. He reached his locker and was surprised to see streamers and a balloon decorated on the door. His smile reached from ear to ear as he opened his locker and placed his bag inside, grabbing his books.
"Happy birthday hyung!" A loud high pitched voices yelled from the distance. He looked to his right and saw a group of seven people running down the hallway- more like six of them were running and Seonghwa was just walking behind them.
Wooyoung jumped onto Hongjoong, wrapping him in a tight hug. "Happy birthday hyung!"
"Why didn't you tell us it was your birthday?" San questioned to which Hongjoong just shrugged. Hongjoong was enveloped with hugs and birthday wishes by his new friends. Mingi and Jongho, being the best friends for five years that they are, bought him a gift that he told to open it when he got home.
"Wait!" Wooyoung jumped in, spreading his arms out dramatically. Everyone looked at him, confused- even Seonghwa who was just watching the group of friends at the back. Wooyoung continued, "What about your soulmate making? Has it appeared yet?" The group of friends erupted in excitement. Seonghwa was the only one who had his marking out of all of them as he was the first to turn eighteen. The Six of them excluding Seonghwa crowded around Hongjoong, eager to see his tattoo.
Hongjoong looked around before pulling up his blazer sleeve to reveal his tattooed wrist. He had to shush everyone as they were attracting attention from being so loud. "It's so pretty!" Wooyoung exclaimed, grabbing a hold of Hongjoong's wrist to look at it closer.
"Any idea who has the other one?" Jongho asked and only received a shrug from Hongjoong in return.
"I swear I've seen it before." San thought about it but he couldn't remember where he'd seen it.
"Hyung, come look at-" Yeosang looked behind them to where Seonghwa had been standing and found no one there. "Where did Seonghwa hyung go?"
"That jerk." Wooyoung scoffed, turning back to Hongjoong. "Couldn't even wish his friend a happy birthday?"
Hongjoong slipped his wrist out of San's grasp and quietly replied, "We're not exactly friends so I can see why he wouldn't want to say anything."
"He probably got uncomfortable with all the talk about the tattoo." Yunho shrugged off. Unfortunetly, their conversation was cut short when the bell rang, signalling it was time for first period. Mingi, Wooyoung and Yeosang offered to walk Hongjoong to class, seeing they all had Music class. And so the the four of them walked together to class. Hongjoong made sure to cover his tattoo so others wouldn't see it.
