A week had passed and lexie and I had made some friends. Meredith had said she doesn't want to know us yet has requested me on her service multiple times. I don't get to be with my resident as I am always with on Alex's or meredith services, this has ment I haven't seen lexie much. Alex and I have grown closer after he helped stich up my head, when my dad threw a bottle at me.

Lexie and I had been awake all night trying to clean up after dad so when we got to work I was falling asleep in the car to the point lexie had to shake me awake.

We walk into the hospital and quickly go to the locker room and change into our scrubs Alex is waiting for me outside the locker room.

I walk out and he puts his arm over my shoulder," so Alex what do we have today" I say quietly."Oh you know the regular, I have an appendectomy scheduled for 10:00. Want to scrub in" he says patting my back.

We have finished our rounds and our preparing the 9 year old girl for her appendectomy. I know how to talk to this girl I mean I am only 6 years older than her.

She is taken down to the or whilst I quickly grab something to eat as I forgot this morning. i get to the Or and scrub in, as I am only an intern I can only observe.

The procedure last about 2 hours. The food hadn't helped with the drowsiness and honestly I felt quite faint after the operation was done" good job baby grey"alex says looking at me before picking me up,"did you sleep last night.i shake my head as I rest it on his shoulder and slowly drift of to sleep

About 5 hours later I wake up still with Alex holding me" Hey grey, you ok "He say quietly." Yeh sorry for this" I say back not moving.
I get up and stretch and we get paged 911 to the girl we did an appendectomy on. We here a nurse say time of death. I stop dead in my tracks.alex pages lexie and she comes straight away even though I can guarantee  she had patients.

Lexie shakes me and come back down to earth."we only did an appendectomy, we only did an appendectomy".I walk off as lexie calls my name. I go into the on call room where me and Alex were earlier.

I hear Alex and lexie outside the door and talking about some date he had with a crazy girl the other day. I open the door as I have calmed down a bit.

We get paged to the er as there is an incoming trauma.
"Ok traumas a minute out,including a uniformed spd officer, I need rooms people rooms" chief says.
"18 year old male, gcs 12, tach 130, suspected dui, packed his car in someones living room, blew a gas line and started a fire" the paramedic says wheeling him to trauma bay 1
"Dr karev go"the chief ushers
"Gcs 6, BP 120/80, clean air way in field, he's hypoxic inhaled a lot of smoke" another paramedic say wheeling the second patient in to bay 2

Lexie and I walk into bay 1 to observe Alex in bay 1
" bilateral pubic fractures, let's get the ultrasound in here"alex says calmly
"Pressures dropping " lexie says loudly
"There's free fluid in his belly, possible pelvic hematoma, alright let's get him to the or now, let's go"alex say starting to push the gurney
"Woah hey, hey he's not going anywhere until I get a dui blood draw we're charging him" a female officer says
"His belly is shredded, if I don't get him to an or now your not going to have anyone to charge" Alex's say not looking away from where he Is going
"You already have him on iv fluids, I got 10 minutes at best to get an accurate blood alcohol level, you take him to the or it will be to late"she say grabing part of the gurney unabling Alex to move
" the officer want to do a draw to test you blood alcohol level content do I have you consent"alex say removing the boys oxygen mask from his face for a brief moment
" no" the patient says quietly
"There's your answers" Alex say replacing the oxygen mask
"State law says I don't need your consent" the officer says aggressively

I am starting to get annoyed as I know this is going to end badly for the 18 if he doesn't get to the Or straight away
" hospital policy says you do"he says moving the gurney
"Hey, how need an or or he will die" I say blocking the officer's way
"Hey my partner could have died back there you step aside" the officer says as she towers over me.
I let out a breath " this is hospital we treat patient's not make arrests as soon as he is out of the surgery and awake, he's all yours." I say calmly
" get me that blood or your under arrest"she says pulling out her hand cuffs
"On what charge" meredith and lexie both say
"Obstruction of a police Investigation "she continues
"Your being ridiculous" I say without thinking
"Get me that blood" she says threateningly
"Do what you gotta do" I say as I rais my wrists
She handcuffs me and I look at lexie
" lily" lexie says looking at me in shock " you don't have to do this" She continues
"Stay back" the officer says pushing her our of the way and walking me out of the er doors

Derek is in the conference room with a lawyer and a Richard
" katey clare is enrolled in a very promising drug trial does that sound like a women that is wanting to die, and in order to win this case we need to point that out" The lawyer states.
The phone in the conference room rings and richard picks it up." Alright thank you I will be right there" he says hanging up the phone.

He gets down to the er where people are freaking out about this whole situation." I just got of the phone with the district, there stone walling" webber says calmly.
"There still holding her" meredith says loud enough for Alex to here in the or, probably" I can't believe that, that's outrageous" she continues.
"Yeah I'm going down there"webber says rubbing his head
" I'm coming too" meredith says raising her hand."same" lexie says
" no, little grey you stay, you have more to learn" webber says putting lexie down.

"Seattle Grace has a strict policy against forceful blood draws"webber says to the police chief.
"I get that but lily might have been following hospital procedure but from patrols point of view she obstructed a time scale Investigation" the police chief says in retaliation
"And if we had delayed that boys operation we would have put his life in danger" meredith says before the chief can open his mouths
"Look I talked to the officer, that kid was doing close to 80 in a 25 zone, that house he hit, there was a family inside." The police chief sats walking around his office.
"Find a way to get her out" meredith says looking like she want to kill someone, " can I see her" meredith continues

They walk down to the holding cells followed by the officer that had arrested me," lily" meredith say looking at me sympathicly
"Can i come home yet" I say.
" no I'm sorry " meredith says rubbing my hand.
"Not yet lily, the chief of police said the vant release you until you have been reigned"richard says sternly
"You mean they are actually going to charge me for this,"I say as I begin to shake.

Meredith wonders off down the hall and goes into the police cheifs office.
" let her out right now" meredith yells at the police.
" we can't do that" He says
"She is 15" meredith says in distress
"Fine but we will continue this investigation"he says banging his hands on his desk causing meredith to flinch. He stands up and walks back down the corridor to the holding cell.
"Your free to go miss grey"he says opening to door.
I walk out and meredith pulls me into a hug a quickly releases me. Noticing what she did.
"What were you thinking" meredith says pushing my shoulder
" It was the right thing to do though, wasn't it"i say quietly
Meredith nods and we walk out of the police station.
" you two are going back to your house"richard says
"What why" I say as I know my dad will be drunk as it is five o'clock somewhere in the world according to him.
" take us back to mine chief" meredith says and I sigh in relief as meredith doesn't know that our dad's a drunk.
Richard drops us off at meredith and we don't talk much she just hands me my phone which she grabbed for me and we sit in an uncomfortable silence for about 4 hours until lexie picks me up.
