coming home

Time jump, 2 years.
Age 21, not much has got better but I think its time I leave La and go back to Seattle, I met an amazing person called Charlotte, she has helped with the addiction and everything else, I'm now 10 months fully clean, the first month was hard but its slowly getting easier, I'm still struggling with the death of lexie, but I mean she was everything to me, so we will figure it as as we go I just hope I can still get a job at grey sloan.
After driving for 15 hours, I finally make it back to the place that I call home, I drive to the hospital, no one has heard from me for the past 2 years so I wonder what everyone will think. I hope amelia didn't tell anyone I was using after I left.
I walk through the familiar doors of now grey sloan memorial hospital, that is amazing, ok, so any firmilar faces. Alex, arizona, both walk past me, well I suppose I have grown up alot, since they last saw me, stopping drugs helped, I guess, at one point I got so heavily into the alcohol I ended up in hospital so I stopped that, everyday it all get a little bit easier. I see April, and meredith walking together  both go straight past me as well, it's like I'm not here.
" Hey," I say grabbing merediths arm.
" I'm sorry who are you," she says.
" never mind, sorry thought you were someone else," I say leaving the hospital. I drive back to the house where I used to call home 1 car I believe it's amelias, unlock the door.
" Hey mer," she yells.
" well I'm not meredith, but will I do," I say as she comes down the stairs.
" Lily, your alive, no one has heard from you in two years," she says hugging me.
"Well I'm back, for good," I say quietly wondering how meredith didn't recognise," did you tell anyone, that I was you know," I question.
" no I didn't it's not my place to tell, my only question is are you clean," she says sitting down on the couch.
" yes I'm clean from everything, alcohol, drugs you name it I'm done, 10 months clean,meredith didn't recognise me," I say showing no emotions.
"I'm proud of you, if you need someone to talk to, I'm here," she say patting my shoulder.
"Thanks appreciate it," I respond.

Merediths pov

"Hey," someone says grabbing my arm I turn around something about them seems so familiar.
"I'm sorry who are you," I respond not remembering where I have seen her before.
"never mind, sorry thought you were someone else," she says leaving, oh my god that's lily, as in my sister lily, I go outside to call her name, but she is already gone. 2 years she has been missing and not a phone call or anything why come back now, or ever.
"Meredith," April say patting my shoulder.
" hmm," I  mumble coming out of my trance.
"You do know who that was, right," she say almost surprised I didn't recognise her, it's been 2 years come on she look so much better than when she left.
" I do now," I say trying to process what happened.where has she gone, I can't believe I didn't remember. Will she just disappear again or will she stay.

Lily's pov

Amelia goes upstairs to sleep as she is on night shift, I follow her upstairs and see that my room still exactly the same as it was before I left, I go up to the attic and all of lexies stuff is the same as it was nothing has changed, well accept for the fact merediths stuff isn't there anymore, amelia is in that room and Alex's stuff is in another, along with some girls stuff.
The downstairs door open and I here laughing.
"Hey amelia," Alex yells as well as a woman.i walk down the stairs Alex's mouth falls open.
"Holy shit, your back," he say picking me up off the floor and hugging me,"where'd you go then," he asks still hugging me.
"La, it was alright," I say putting my over his shoulder.
"Right sorry, lily this is Jo Wilson, Jo this is lily Grey,"
"Nice to meet you," I say holding my hand out,  she shakes it and goes to the liquor cabinet.
"You want one," she asks offering me a shot glass.
"I'm good thanks, I don't drink,"I say.
" Anymore," I mumble under my breath.
"What happend to you, the lily I know would have taken that without second thoughts," Alex says making me rethink my answer.
" I'll be back in a sec," I say jogging up the stairs to amelias room.
"Woah, what's up you've been home what 4 hours and your already panicking," she says rubbing her eyes, having just woke up.
"How did you fight the urges," I ask laying on the bed.
"With alot of hard work," I hear the door open and footsteps pounding up the stairs.
"Lily," meredith says opening every door in the house.
"Hi," I mumble slightly confused.
"Why are you here I thought, I thought you were dead," she say hugging me.
"Well I'm not funnily enough," I mumble slightly annoyed.
" Ok then," she says," want a drink, tequila, scotch anything," she says second person.
"No I don't drink," I say declining her offer.
"That's boring you sound just like amelia," she says and I think something must have clicked as she put her hand over her mouth and left the house. I saw on the news that Derek died from a car accident and I know meredith has 3 kids, and also got nominated for a harper avery award.
