"Mal, are you alright?" she asked

"I was ripped away from my two friends, one is a general, and the other is a saint, and was sent to the Fjerdan borders. I wrote to you two, but got nothing. How does that sound?" he snapped. Bianca sighed understandingly.

"Mal, we wrote to you a lot, especially Alina. She was dismal, and she's only got the hang of it now."

"I wrote to you two, but I got nothing, I thought you two just gave up"

"You got nothing?"

"Nothing B, nothing"

"Then the only explanation is, that someone intercepted our letters"

"But who?"

"I don't know, and what surprises me is that I sent them to the army, yet they were intercepted. I'm not sure about Alina's though, but I'll look into it, I promise."

"Are you sure?"

"Mhm, now let's fetch Alina, we have a lot to talk about. I'm so sorry Mal"

She gave Mal a hug, and Mal returned it. Bianca didn't have any siblings, and she counted Mal as a brother to her aside from Matthias, and Alina, Genya, and Noelle as sisters. As soon as they pulled away, the door was banged on.

"Excuse me, General," it was David

"What happened David?"

"Marie and Genya were attacked in the fitting room, Alina was a target"

'Uh oh'

"Did you find out who did it?"

"The suspect is in custody, Ivan and Fedyor are dealing with him"

"And General Kirigan?"

"After the mess, he's looking for Miss Starkov, but he won't be there soon"

"Alright, give me a minute"

"I'll have guards take you to my office, Mal, there's an urgent call. When I find Alina I'll bring her there as well, alright?"

"Is she alright?"

"She's safe, that's what I know. Don't worry, you'll get to see her sooner or later. I'll see you later, tracker Oretsev" she grinned

"See you then, General Taylor" he grinned back.

Bianca ordered 3 guards to take Mal to her office, and then she followed David. He led her then to the scene of crime, which was where guards were all over the area.

"What happened?"

"2 grisha were attacked in the fitting room, one of them was a false identity of Alina Starkov and the other was a tailor. We caught the suspect fleeing the scene of crime, and then we grabbed him. 2 heartrenders then took him into questioning" answered one of the guards

"Are they alright?"

"The tailor is alright, she called for us, the other one was stabbed". Bianca tightened her lips into a thin line, holding her emotions together, she had to be strong, for everyone.

'She didn't deserve it, at least Genya is alright'

'Mhm'

"Where's the custody now?"

"In that room, Ivan and Fedyor are with him" David replied, Bianca knew which room he was talking about

"What are your orders, General?" asked a guard

"Wait for General Kirigan and then report to him as fast as you can, and increase the security. We can't let anyone know about this"
