Bianca jolted up from her bed, with cold sweat dripping down her face. Her uncle was alive and well, and was laughing victoriously in between the corpses of her parents. She couldn't do anything to stop it, not until she woke up in the same tent Aleksander left her in.

'B are you alright?'

'There! We can't have your heart racing too much can we?'

'I'm fine, thanks you two'

Bianca tried to move and winced in pain, her head was banging, and her ribs still hurt. She felt like a bear hibernating with all the sleep she got. It was freezing outside, the hems of her kefta were torn a bit, and she was wearing a silk kefta. She wanted to get some fresh air, to clear up her mind. She wanted to ask Aleksander about what her mother said, whether he was the black heretic or not.

'Are you two down for fresh air'

'Last time we went for fresh air it didn't age well' shadow muttered sleepily

'Alright, I'm down, only if we stay near the tents'

'Aye aye captain' grinned Bianca before wrapping a blanket around her

Bianca wrapped a blanket around her and edged a bit away from her tent, but she was still within the camp. The grisha were all asleep, she doubted if any of them was awake.

"You don't learn from your mistakes, do you, general?" called a cold velvet voice that Bianca had a love hate relationship with

'Ugh darkles'

"Do you call getting some fresh air a mistake, general?"

"I certainly don't, but it may be when you've been caught while you're having fresh air"

"Well I'm caught by the wrong person now certainly"

"Were you expecting someone?" he asked, inching closer. Bianca could swear he was smirking like a little boy

'I could swear homeboy's smirking whenever he's here'

'Shadow man wipe that smirk off your face before we do it for you'

"Not at all, just wasn't expecting you out of all people"

"Is my presence disturbing you?"

"Depends on the situation really"

"Are you alright? You look like you've just seen a ghost" he glanced at her eyes.

'Fuck he knows that I have a nightmare'

'Let him be, he's whipped and I'm here for it'

'Uh huh, plus we get to ask him about the black heretic'

"I'm fine" she muttered, sitting down near her tent

"Nightmares?"

"How do you know?" she visibly clenched her jaw

"I have my experiences with them. You still didn't answer my question. Nightmares?"

"That doesn't matter"

"I'll take that as a yes"

"Take it however you will. I have a few questions for you"

"Ask away, Bianca"

"How are you related to the black heretic?"

"He's my great grandfather, from my mother's side"

"Each shadow differs from the other, correct?"

"Yes, I thought you knew that previously"

"I do, but I wanted to prove a point"

"Which is?"
