{ chapter three : reunions }
"Is this the place we used to love?
Is this the place that I've been dreaming of?"🛡🛡
Finding troops and weapons had been hard but the group had been somewhat successful and were making their way back to the fortress. Thorndash was busy talking through strategies with Reepicheep when she realised that Caspian was nowhere to be seen, he must have fallen towards the back of the group.
Excusing herself she stopped and let the others walk ahead so that she could find the Prince and make sure he hadn't got into any trouble. Then she heard shouting in the distance and the sound of swords clashing against each other, Thorndash had never run so fast as she sprinted between the trees.
She stumbles slightly to a stop when she sees Caspian duelling with a blonde boy that she didn't recognise. His sword had gotten stuck in the closest tree and he was trying to pull it out, but got distracted when he heard her calling for him. "Caspian!"
The blonde boy wasn't worried about the noise of a random girl screaming and had picked up a rather large rock, aiming to hit the prince over the head when a different scream stopped him.
"No, stop!"
The blonde boy listened and stopped attacking, his eyes lighting up when he spotted the other Narnians appearing through the trees. Thorndash knew who they were, they must have heard the horn and now they were here to help. She was almost nervous to meet them as they were very famous but she kept herself calm, not wanting to show her weaknesses.
"Prince Caspian?" Peter, the blonde boy asked as Caspian pointed his sword at him.
"Yes?" The prince raised an eyebrow, keeping his hand steady because he did not know this person. "And who are you?"
"You idiot, don't you know who they are?" Thorndash snapped at him, keeping her distance slightly from the two boys as her eyes drifted between Peter and his younger sister Lucy.
Then more footsteps were heard as other figures emerged behind Lucy, it was Susan and Edmund. "Peter!" They weren't alone, Thorndash was more than happy to see Trumpkin at their feet.
Thorndash smirked as she made eye contact with the dwarf. "There you are, grump, worried we'd lost you."
"Nice to see you too, kid." He mumbled, not wanting to seem too soft but also glad that she was safe.
Caspian's eyes rested on the sword that he was holding, realising who it belonged to because of the stories he had heard. "High king Peter?"
"I believe you called." Peter said confidently, his chin raised slightly in the air.
"Well, yes but...I thought you'd be older."
"If you like, we could come back in a few years-"
"No!" Caspian quickly stopped him from leaving. "No, that's alright. You're just...you're not exactly what I expected."
