"The map of my world gets smaller as I sit here.
Pulling at the loose threads now."

As they waited for Caspian and Edmund to return, Gwen was anxiously hoping that they would return soon with the little boy. She didn't know what she would do if something had happened to Eustace, especially after she had promised that they would take care of him.

Suddenly they all heard a large screech coming from behind the volcano. The men on the boat stop what they're doing and look around quickly trying to find out what had made the noise.

"What was that?" Lucy asked panicking.

There was another screech and they spotted flames in the distance, Gael pointed over to the island and asked. "Is it the volcano?"

"Oh no, that's no volcano." Captain Drinian turned to his men and started shouting orders to them. "All hands-on deck there! Archers, arm yourselves!" The crew rush into action as a large orange dragon starts flying towards the ship. "Take your positions and wait for my command!"

The dragon swoops down and lands on the mast of the ship, Lucy holds her hands over her head to block it but wonders why the dragon wasn't actually attacking them. "What's it doing?"

Gwen grabs both Lucy and Gael and wraps her arms around their shoulders to try and keep them away from the attack of the dragon. The men start shooting arrows at it which turns the dragon away but for some reason it keeps returning to the ship. Reepicheep runs up the mast and manages to stab the dragons hand which causes the beast to roar in pain as he flies away; the crew cheer in delight as the beast leaves them alone.

Just when they thought that the dragon was gone, the dragon had reappeared only this time it wasn't alone. He was holding something between his hands and they all stood up to try and work out what was flying towards them.

"Is that...?" Gwen trailed off as she narrowed her eyes to try and get a better look.

"Edmund!" Lucy recognised her brother and called for him but there was nothing they could do, just watching him calling back to them.

"Lucy!"

Back on land and it was revealed that the orange dragon was actually Eustace. He had been circling the boat to try and tell them, which was why he had scooped Edmund up and burned his words into the ground so that his cousin would understand. Eustace was trying to get a golden bracelet off his wrist which was harder than he thought as it had shrunk around his scales.

Edmund explained what must have happened to the others that watched worriedly. "He must have been tempted by the treasure."

"Well, anyone knows a dragon's treasure is enchanted." Caspian sighed, then Eustace huffed at him and he changed his wording to not offend the boy. "Well, anyone from here."
