{ chapter nine : castaways }
"I'm waiting for my moment to come,
I'm waiting for the movie to begin."🛡🛡
It had been three years since the Pevensie children went back to their own world and Narnia was thriving under Caspian's rule. He had managed to agree peace with several other parts of the world and was now on a different adventure; he wanted to track down seven lords that had disappeared when Miraz took power.
He had never travelled before but had a good crew surrounding him, the Captain of the ship was helpful but very quiet and usually kept his opinions to himself. Reepicheep agreed to take the chance of a lifetime on the boat and was enjoying the journey more than expected.
Then there was Gwen, most people had stopped calling her Thorndash at this point and it was either Gwen or Dash. She had matured slightly, still keeping her sarcastic tone but being more responsible on board the ship. Not to mention that she and Caspian were in a serious relationship which many hoped would lead to marriage.
Captain Drinian was pointing out places on the map to Caspian as Gwen stood nearby, she wasn't paying attention as she stared out at the rolling seas ahead. Suddenly she spotted something, it looked as though there was something in the water and it wasn't supposed to be there.
"Caspian! Look!" She points, leaning off the side of the boat to get a better look.
Sure enough, she could see bodies in the water that were desperately trying to swim away from the large ship. Caspian ignored her, knowing that her imagination sometimes played tricks on her and there probably wasn't anything in the water. She glanced back at him, noticing that he hadn't even looked up and decided to take matters into her own hands.
She removed her dark boots because she didn't want to ruin them and then stood on the edge of the boat; some of the crew were watching her suspiciously, wondering what she was going to do next. Seeing her standing on the edge, Caspian jumped away from the Captain and called out to her.
"Gwen!" Nothing could be done as she dived off the side of the boat and into the deep blue sea below. The crew watched their king as he ran a hand through his hair, sighing at her unexpected jump. "Don't just stand there, go!"
Despite not wanting to danger his crew with whatever Gwen had seen in the water, he knew that she wouldn't dive in for no reason. So he ran his hands through his hair before diving into the sea with his crew. He swam towards the front of the boat and his eyes widened when he noticed that there were bodies in the water.
He reached the closest person, grabbing them around the waist to help them get their breath back in the harsh waters. "It's alright, I've got you."
"Caspian?"
