Chapter six~ Junior Alpha

BAYLON'S P.O.V.

I was with her and I wanted her so badly that I could hardly stand it. She was accepting me, feeling affection for me. We were starting to connect as mates. The more we were together, the stronger the connection would become. I could feel it in her kiss. Her quick glances into my eyes. The atmosphere was palpable, Then out of nowhere my concentration was broken, our connection was lost. There was someone out there watching us. Instantly my instinct to protect Kaylee jumped to the forefront. "Did you hear something." I heard them, and i could tell that it was more than one. I instantly grabbed Kaylee up into my arms and carried her to the car. She didn't understand what was going on, I could tell. "Kay, lock the doors" I whispered. It seemed that She should have smelled the wolf scent in the air.... I didn't understand how she didn't. I needed to get her home as soon as I could. But first I had to see...I walked slowly into the brush, but as I looked where the scent took me there was noone there. They must've taken off I thought. But why stalk and spy on us?

After that I just wanted to protect my mate so I told her I was taking her home. When I told her that I had to take her home, she looked at me nervously. I had to reassure her that everything was okay, and that we were good. "I just feel like maybe we were moving hella fast and we should slow down....ok?" I smiled at her and I could tell that she felt what I was saying. I have never felt that before in my life. Our connection was so strong that I didnt want to let it go, so I grabbed her hand and held it. She smiled....My angel.
"I want to see you again tomorrow kay, is that okay?" I asked. She smiled at me and nodded."Of course." I grabbed her hand and I kissed her cheek gently, why is she so soft? I needed more, I kissed her lips.....So damn soft and plump. I had to leave before I kidnapped her and took her home with me, so I kissed her hand and I got in my car and drove off. I felt like I needed to turn around and go back, because I was missing a piece of me. I aimlessly wondered, what would I do when I left for college? Of course she would have to go with me...What if she doesn't want to go? I would stay here and be with her....Will I have to throw away all that I've worked for my whole life? I needed to really think about what I was going to do. But for now I had to worry about whoever it was that was watching us, I knew that they were the same rogues. I smelled that familiar scent, in our woods, on our territory. Why were they watching us? Was it just because we happened to be off of our territory and they caught our scent, or were they watching me? I felt like I needed answers..... for the sake of my mate, I have to keep her safe.

I pulled into my driveway and felt a bit uneasy. I could smell that scent again! I instantly ran into my house to find my dad." Father the rogues are outside! Right now!! I caught their scent!" My father jumped on the phone,

" Alert! I have reason to believe we are being invaded by Rogues, get our pack together now!!!" I called Billy and Randy to come here as soon as possible, to help with the search. I also decided calling Kaylee's brother would be a good idea. He answered the phone, " Hello?" I answered him " Kanen, did your father inform you that we are being invaded by rogues? he answered yes, "well, I believe that you need to come here with your father to help with this search. This affects all of us, so we need to join together in this okay?" he answered, " yes Junior Alpha" That comment took me by surprise.
I felt so confused by what he just said so I had to ask, "What did you just call me, and where did you get that from?" He answered " That is what we all call you, I thought you knew that...They told me to call you junior alpha the first day we arrived here, am I wrong?" I hesitated a moment "No.....its okay, just took me by surprise. Just get here now ok?" I hung up the phone. I had to think about that later, right at the moment we had to go take care of business. I just wondered why were these rogues here, what did they want? We have to find them, I need to know. Its like my wolf was awoken and ready. All of the pack started to arrive and telling us that they were smelling the scent outside as well. We all left the house and stripped down to shift. Kanen surprised me, he was very ready to go into battle if necessary..... He shifted into his wolf, and I had to admit that I had never seen a wolf like his. He was silver all over, with crystal blue eyes. It made me wonder what did kaylee's wolf look like, I was intrigued. Once everyone shifted We all ran through the woods searching for the enemy.

And I was positive that they were the enemy, if they weren't they would have come to my father and requested to be in our pack, or requested to have a visit on our land. It is my fathers decision who is allowed on our land, and whether he trusts those who he allows as rogues to join our pack. So if we are after them they are a threat. I could smell them in my area, and it was a piculiarly familiar smell. They had obviously decided that it was okay to intrude on our land. All of a sudden I could feel something inside of me grow angry. Why are they here in MY territory? We need to fight them my mind thought. I didn't understand what was wrong with me. I had never in my life felt that feeling...I needed to protect my family, my friends, my mate. Maybe something was changing, maybe I was growing..

My wolf was taking over and I was just out for blood. We ran through the woods and came up on Three individuals. My father ordered us to surround them. The rogues stood there with complete pride and did not Falter. There were two older men, and a young lady. The man stepped forward and began to speak. "There is a new family that has just came here and became part of your pack....I am looking for that family, the Bresettes. They wronged me" Just then a huge dark grey wolf started to growl viciously. It was George, Kaylees father. The man recognized him. " There!....There is the wolf that I am looking for!" he exclaimed. He went to step forward and slightly growled, but our pack was not letting that happen.

I was so engrossed in what was happening that I didn't see my father leave, or return fully dressed. My father stepped forward and spoke in his Alpha voice. " You will not come here and demand anyone in my territory, or in my pack...Old or new members of my pack are protected...By me." The other man stepped back and realized that at this moment he was defeated. Then he spoke, "look, I will give this man and his family a two weeks to leave your territory. I don't want any trouble from you sir, or your pack. But I want his head and If I have to come back here and have an all out war I will. We will go home and...." My father growled at this man, and I didn't understand why he wanted Kaylee and her family. I didn't care either, all I knew is that he wasn't going to hurt her or anyone else in her family. I wanted to rip his throat out with my bare fangs. My father spoke....

"You will come back here in two weeks and we will be prepared to fight! So get off of my land and never come here again, I will take your threats as idol and not murder you tonight." He growled. They bowed their heads and quickly left, but the one gave a quick look to George and winked his eye. George went toward him, but my father stood in his way.. "No George, we will first prepare ourselves for battle, and then we will end them." He stood down reluctantly. Two of our pack guards escorted the three to the boundaries of our territory. and we decided to regroup at the pack house, our house.

I wanted to tell my father that I needed to go and check on Kaylee. But do I leave when my pack needs me? I asked, "Father do you feel like Georges family is safe right now, there are just the women at their home and why did we let them leave?." "Son, believe me there are more of  them where they come from so we will be patient for now... wait are you volunteering to go to secure his home?" he asked "Yes sir." He nodded and smiled at me " I am so glad that you are finally joining in the responsibilities of the pack.....I will send Randy, Billy, and Georges son with you." He waved me to go. I nodded. I was disappointed that he sent all of them with me, but what could I say?

We arrived at the house and Kanen went inside to check on his family, so Billy started up conversation, " So why do I feel like all of us were just sent away because they are trying to keep a secret from us younger wolves." " Maybe they feel like we are too impulsive." I replied, I couldn't say that I volunteered to come here to see Kaylee. "Randy, do you agree?" Billy asked. Randy just shrugged his shoulders. "Look, whatever they are doing, they wanna keep quiet... Billy maybe we should wait for the time when my father is ready to share with us what's going on" I replied. "Yes Junior Alpha" Billy said sarcastically, which kinda pissed me off a little. " look, don't be smug and sarcastic with me Billy, it's uncalled for right now, and I don't like that...at all." I said to him in a voice I never used before. It took Billy and Randy by surprise, And me too honestly. Billy answered, "sorry man." "It's cool man, I know that you were just joking." I said. I was confused by my own reaction. I didn't usually care about them taking shots at me every once in awhile.

I guess I just wanted to go and see Kaylee so bad it hurt and maybe that was making me agitated. I didn't know, but he was right we did need to figure out what was going on, and now. Nothing can happen to her, I was really overprotective of her. I would ask my father what was happening and also tell him my plan. I guessed it was time I realized that I had no choice but to be part of this...at least until I left for college right?...If I even went....
