KAYLEE'S P.O.V.
Everything was happening so fast that I realized that the only thing that seemed to be kinda stable in my life was my mate... He showed me already that he wanted to care about what I was going through. I guessed that I should be glad that we came to this place. I initially thought that it would be horrible, who knew all of this would be happening. It was obvious to me then that Those rogues had to have been following us and been on our tails the whole way here from Wisconsin. We had lived there as long as I could remember. Although we moved homes frequently, we stayed in the same state. something must have happened for them to just want to attack all of a sudden. Was it the fact that they knew that my fathers children were coming of age? He has not recruited us to be in some army that he had made up in his mind or anything. My brother, sister, and I have never been trained for any sort of combat. The closest I have ever gotten to a brawl was fourth grade with Justine Evans. She pulled my hair at recess and called me names. I had to fight her after school the next day, my parents insisted. My Father told me that if I didn't that she would continue to torture me all year long. So I mustered up the courage to stand up for myself and fight back. Needless to say I was clobbered, she was twice my size and weight. But I look back on it and my father was right, she did leave me alone after she tied my pony tails into a knot and sat on me while she pummeled me.
I guessed that I should get up in the morning and train also, it couldn't hurt. I had so many questions that were unanswered. Like, would we have to leave once all of this was over and it was in our favor? I didn't think that I wanted to leave Baylon and I just found him. He was my mate, I had found my mate and I couldnt understand Why was my mother so negative about him? There was So many things I wanted to know. I needed answers so I decided when the house became quiet to try to ask the only person I knew hadn't lied to me....Baylon.
It was three in the morning and you could hear a pin drop, except for my sister in the other bed snoring like a bear. Gah! I really couldnt wait to go back to our house and have my own room back. Not only did she snore, but she had terrible nightmares sometimes that used to scare me dead outta my sleep. I guessed at the moment having my own room just sounded dumb.
I snuck out of the room and closed the door really quietly. I tiptoed down the hallway and then it dawned on me, I have no clue were his room is in this gigantic house. I might end up knocking on his parents room door and how stupid would I look then? I just would have to ask him tomorrow when he took me to our house for our things. But as I turned to go back to my room something grabbed me! I started to scream, but a hand was quickly held over my mouth!"Please don't yell, it's alright its just me, Baylon" he whispered into my ear "Omg, you nearly made me pee myself" I whispered loudly. He was still bent over from the elbow, but smiling. I asked, 'What are you doing out here in the middle of the night like this?" He looked into my eyes with a kind of half smile and replied, "You know...I could ask the same thing." "Well in all honesty I felt like I wanted to take a run, but I changed my mind." what a dumb explanation right? " You make it a habit of going out for runs at 3am with rogues out on the hunt for you in jammies?" He asked as he looked me up and down with a cute coy smile. I had forgotten that I had on a sheer flimsy nightgown and instantly covered my body with my arms.
"Look I had a lot of stuff thrown at me today so I'm not quite thinking straight, of course I wouldn't do that, but I felt like I wanted to run....You know like runaway from all of this for awhile. Get some fresh air, stretch my legs. Well at least my wolves legs." He smiled at me even more, my belly caught butterflies. Then he asked, "Wanna go forreal? I wanna see her...You know, your wolf?" I didn't want to, I was too frightened. But what am I gonna say now that he's trumped me? "Oh, I don't think that my parents would like it at all if I just decided to go out to run, with YOU, at three in the morning. I would be grounded at my old folks home." He chuckled. I made him laugh! He really does like me, cause that joke was all the way lame.
