Chapter seven~The rogues

KAYLEE'S P.O.V.

I was overjoyed to get home and tell my mom what was going on in my life. I finally had my first boyfriend and he seemed smart, handsome, sweet, and kind.... so far.
As I arrived home it was time for family dinner.  we sat down for dinner every night and I wanted to tell everyone my news, it would be my high C for the day. My family had a game that we would play called high C. Everyday that we sat down for dinner together, we would tell everyone our high C for that day, even if we had the worst day ever we would have to think of something that was a high for that day. But today I had a real high. But as soon As we sat down for dinner someone called my fathers cell phone and when he answered his facial expression changed. A real look of worry came over his face. He looked at my mom with so much worry and said "They have found us again" my mother looked as if she was about to cry.

I didnt know what to think about what he was saying. I just felt confused, who was he talking about? They?....They found us? He imediately got up and went upstairs to get ready to leave. my mother didnt say anything and It was as if she wasn't confused at all. Then my brothers cell rang. He answered, "Yes junior alpha, well yes that is what I was told to call you sir." He was talking to baylon, I knew that he was, I could hear him. when he hung up I had to ask," Just what is going on kanen? Noones talking but everyone, even kaya seems to understand whats going on. What is going on seriously?" "I think maybe you would be better off not knowing, but knowing you that wont be exceptable so I will just tell you.....there are rogues in our territory and we have to go and get rid of them", he answered.

"Well, why do you have to go too? And what the hecks a rogue doing here  kanen?" "Because kaylee," He exaggerated " I am now part of this pack. I am just as strong as the others  here, and a rogue is a rogue wolf, it is what we were. We didn't belong to a pack and so we were considered rogue.  But these wolves are up to no good we don't know why they are here yet, that's what we are going to find out....." he replied angrily. " I know kanen that you are capable,  I just dont want anything to happen to my brother is all, I'm so worried now."  He smilled and gave me a small hug. "I will be okay and I'm going with dad, he will watch my back..... and I'll  watch his, we will be back exactly how we left." I smiled weakly.  I just had to ask about baylon. "What about baylon, is he going also?" "he is the one who gave me my order to be there, He is our junior alpha." Kanen replied. I felt like I just learned something new about baylon that I never thought of before. He IS a junior alpha. Wow, I didn't even know that was a thing, I felt a little turned on by his power. I didnt think about the fact that my mate was a future alpha, all I cared about was that he was my mate. But now I was so excited of the thought of him being an alpha and also I was worried, Now they are out there with those rogues. I had to ask my mother what was going on after dinner, it seemed that we all had lost our appetites after daddy and kanen left anyway. So we started to clear the table, and went to get ready for bed.

Finally I went upstairs to find my mother getting prepared for bed. She was doing her hair, two long braids is how she did it every night before bed. My mother had the prettiest hair....Long and thick, down her back. It was way thicker than kayas and mine. It was thick and shiney, and it went perfectly with her flawless coffee colored skin. She was just so beautiful, and I loved to watch her do things like prepare for bed. She was so gentle and everything that she did was so maticulous. From combing her hair, to putting on her face cream. I could see how my daddy loved her so much, she was a perfect mother and wife and everything that I would love to be one day....

"Mommy, I wanted to talk to you about what's happening" I must've appeared frightened to her  because she looked concerned and  motioned for me to come sit next to her on her bed. "Well sweetheart, what would you like to know?" " I wanna know if daddy and Kanen are in any danger, and why would rogue wolves be here mom?" I replied. "well there could be a number of reasons why rogues would be here, but one of the reasons could be us. But also there are alot of male wolves going out tonight. They will be strong as a united front. Being in a pack means sticking together as, sort of family.  We were rogues too at one time, but not the bad kind who liked to start trouble like these may be. We now have an extended family that we could depend on, and who depends on us" She told me. I replied with," Well, what about the women, do we go out and fight too? And they would be here for us?? The whole thing confused me. "Oh yes, if we need to fight we will. To protect our children , our territory we WILL fight. And yes honey other wolves may not like our new situation.  We've been rogue for so long." she looked out into space as if she were remembering .....then her eyes welled up with tears. "What is it mommy, are you okay?"
