cara's pov

it's been about three days since i first checked the email and saw that i had four weeks left with sam, so i decided to tell him today.

i walked down to the kitchen while sammy trailed behind me, getting ready to eat.

"so what do you want for dinner, babe?" he asked, getting out a pan.

i shrugged and picked at my nail.  now would be a good time since we're not that busy, and sam is understanding, so i'm sure he won't mind.

"actually, can you sit for a minute?" i asked, pointing at the chair in front of me.

he nodded and sat down, asking me what was wrong.

"uh, nothings wrong, i just, i need to kinda tell you something."

"sure, you ok?"

"yeah, so i got this email a few days ago from the company you rented me, and it was a reminder notice that i have less than four weeks left with you until i have to go back and be rented again." i said, slowly so he could comprehend it.

he looked at me for a while, trying to understand.  i could tell that the thought of me being close to another guy, even if it was temporary and fake, made him uncomfortable.

"soo, uh, what do you think?" i asked.

he suddenly got angry.  he stood up from the chair but stayed right in front of me.

"what do i think? i think that this is crazy, isn't there some kind of rule that if we end up dating for real that you don't have to go?!" he yelled, pushing the chair against the table.

i felt bad for him, but it's not like there was anything i could do.

"well actually sammy, babe, there isn't.  in fact, i'm not supposed to be dating you for real, it was against the contract you signed." i said, sympathetically.

sam didn't say anything and just went back to cooking, but stayed angry.  i didn't want to make anything worse, so i just walked back upstairs to let him cool off, even though i knew there would be tension here for the next few days.

i have so many projects/reports due immediately after spring break ugh and i'm jewish so this isn't helping at all fml
