sammy's pov
i walked into my house and shut the door behind me, dropping my keys on the front table. cara was already inside, sitting on the couch watching tv.
when she heard me come in, she turned her attention to me and smiled. i sat down on the couch next to her and leaned over to give her a kiss.
"hey, babe. how was your day?" i asked, standing up again to go to the kitchen.
she bit her lip for a moment and then replied, "it was fine."
i started taking the ingredients for dinner out of the fridge, so i didn't get a good chance to fully look at her.
"what about you, how was work?" cara asked, turning her entire body around on the couch to face me.
"it was great, actually. it was my boss' birthday, so we got to take an extra-long break."
