sammy's pov
"sam, let's just go." cara sighed, pointing at my range rover.
she had a clutch purse in her hand as she ran the other one through her hair, taking a breath.
"ok, get in the car. i'll be out in a minute," i said, trying not to sound too rude or demanding.
cara walked over to the passenger side of the car, as i walked back inside mike's house, to say bye to everyone.
"hey, dude, thanks for the killer party, but i gotta go. see you later, man."
mike nodded and patted my shoulder, with the hand that wasn't holding a drink.
after i said goodbye to pretty much everyone that i knew, i walked outside and saw cara sitting in the car, with her face against the window.
i buckled my seatbelt and drove away from the driveway we were in, not saying a word. it was a comfortable silence, but i'm assuming it was only that on my end.
"hey, cara. what's wrong?"
"nothing, i'm fine. it's just that i kind of feel like you don't really like me, that's all. i mean, i know that we literally just met last week, but i don't know, i was kind of expecting something that can't be given to me." she said, shrugging her shoulders.
"oh, cara, baby, no..."
