cara's pov

i walked down the stairs and into the living room. sam was sitting on the couch with his hands across his chest, motioning me to sit down.

i know that he's going to break up with me right now, i mean, after a fight this morning, i'm sure he doesn't want to be with me. he called me downstairs a few minutes ago, and judging by the despaired look on his face, he wanted to break the news.

i took a stride to the couch and let out a shaky breath. sam couldn't tell, even when i was sitting next to him.

"what's up?" i asked, trying to sound nonchalant.

"cara, i need to tell you something," he started, grabbing my hand.

i looked down at my hand in his and looked back up. i didn't say anything.

"i'm,"

uh oh, here it comes. cara, i'm breaking up with you.

i waited to hear those words, but they never came out of his mouth.

"i'm sorry. i know i've been a little distant lately, and it's because of work and stuff. i had a lot of things going on and i took all my stress out onto our relationship. sorry," he said.

my brows lifted up and i bursted out laughing, i was relieved. sam looked at me weirdly as i continued my laughing fit.

"uh, ok?"

i calmed down after a second and sat back down, "no, no, sorry. i just, i thought you were breaking up with me and i got scared."

he shook his head and smiled.

"why would i ever break up with you?" he asked rhetorically.
