a/n // this is so random, the concept sounded better in my head compared to being transferred into words.
literally mostly sidemen fluff. swearing.

josh and simon had been together for about 6 months when they decided to come out to their close friends and family.

both still being very much in the closet, neither of them wanted to rush into anything and they seemed to be making a good job of hiding it.

however there's only so long you can go on this way before it takes its toll, and the two knew it was time to come out to their families - including the boys too.

their families were both extremely accepting. simons mum was the only person out of everyone who simon had already confessed his sexuality to, and the rest of them were still a little suspicious to simon not being into women whatsoever.

it's kind of a given when you never once bring home a girl when you're in your mid twenties, especially when you get fangirls drooling over you almost nonstop.

josh had never told anyone before that he was bi and that he liked guys, and having girlfriends had certainly thrown both his parents off any sort of scent he might have been giving off.

but nevertheless, they were all accepting of the two, and whilst they'd already met before at a few sidemen events the families befriended each other very quickly, even before the couple got the chance to tell anyone else.

they had a little more hope now, but they were fully aware of the types of jokes these guys tended to make and the words that were said by them, most memorable in the cards against humanity videos they filmed together.

i mean, it was just them reading what was said on the cards, but they couldn't lie when they said it knocked their confidence a little more every time the specific f-slur was said.

they'd always say afterwards that 'i'm not homophobic, i'm cool with gays' and blah blah blah whatever.

but the ball of doubt in their minds was only ever increasing as the days went by, and simon and josh had discussed this on multiple occasions when they were having a heart to heart conversation at 3am, secretly lying in bed in each other's arms.

when the time came though, they sat them down one by one. the house was first, vik specifically because vik was the type of guy who couldn't hurt a fly.

and they were right, he was so ecstatic to find out about them - he began to ramble about how he'd love them both to teach him more about this type of thing like the different types of sexualities there were, all the little intricacies that people normally wouldn't care to much for.

that meant the world to the couple, who promised that they would find the time to come and speak to vik and answer his many questions that he started to write down into his notepad.

they were so unbelievably grateful that vik was so welcoming and ready to research and understand more about their relationship.

jj was a little less understanding, he wasn't against what they had at all - just more confused than anything. his face showed an expression of what seemed along the lines of 'are you for real?', raised eyebrows and a weird smirk-type thing hung on his face.
