Chapter 7.
___
[Now Playing: Father by the Front Bottoms]
~~~[POV: SAPNAP]
Sapnap was cooking breakfast, humming a song and attempting, and failing horribly, to flip a pancake. That's when he heard the door unlock, freezing in place and slowly turning his head he saw his father walk through the door and lock eyes with him. His father was early, usually he'd get home right after the bus came.
"What the fuck are you still doing here." He snapped, narrowing his eyes as he noticed the pancakes. Sapnap ducking his head and trying to avoid meeting eye contact or speaking to the best of his ability.
"Whose are those? You know you shouldn't be eating anything you stupid fuck." His voice menacing as he took a step towards the oven, reaching over and Sapnap immediately flinching in preparation to be hit.
"WHY THE FUCK DID YOU FLINCH? YOU GOD DAMN PUSSY." His father began yelling, raising his hand to actually hit him this time. Sapnap dodging to avoid to, which only fueled the flames. Being grabbed by the collar of his shirt as his father raised his fist to punch him, Sapnap trying to wriggle out of his grasp.
His father sending the fist directly into where his eye had been seconds before, but now where his throat was. Sending another punch, and another before dropping him to the ground with a thud. Grabbing the pancake off the stove and stalking off to his room.
Sapnap was gasping for breath, holding his throat as it sobbed in pain, each noise only making it hurt worse. His nose was bleeding and it might've been broken, a black eye already sure to form from the third punch when it finally hit its mark.
He stumbled forward, grabbing his backpack and phone and walking out the front door. He didn't even try and catch the bus, he didn't want to see anyone on it anyways.
He stumbled over to Purpled's house, the two had gotten been decently close a year ago, even thought they hadn't talked much since. Sapnap knew Purpled was pretty good with makeup and hoped that he could help fix up his face and cover the bruises that was sure to come. He was lucky the house was only a twelve minute walk or else he might've missed him.
A single knock on the door was all it took before the door was being swung open, a very confused Purpled standing in the doorway.
"What the fuck-" Purpled began, stopping as they noticed the forming bruise on his throat.
"Come in?" Purpled said, turning around and walking through the kitchen into his room, Sapnap following close behind. Both of them putting down their backpacks as Purpled gestured to his desk seat, Sapnap sitting in it and Purpled sitting on his bed."Fight or your dad this time?" Purpled asked, their voice barely above a whisper.
"Dad." Sapnap croaked out, wincing as pain shot through his upper neck. Purpled frowning,"You know when I said that you could come over whenever it got back I meant it? I still do even though we haven't been talking much." Purpled finished his sentence with a sigh, Sapnap nodding and looking down. Purpled grabbing the makeup, which they'd gotten pretty good with over the years. Purpled had always enjoyed messing with makeup, especially ones that brought out his odd eye color.
(Don't fucking ask why I liked the idea of c!Purpled being good at makeup. Cuz idfk)
Not to mention that in the years they'd known each other, Purpled had helped Sapnap cover tons of bruises and cuts. All from fights, falls, his father and more. Purpled let Sapnap vent whenever, and Sapnap always return the favor.
