Chapter 9.

[Now Playing: Teenagers by My Chemical Romance]
~~~[POV: SAPNAP]
Sapnap was beginning to feel stir-crazy and Purpled as well considering the fact he asked Sapnap first if he wanted to go on a walk. Sapnap immediately accepted the offer and Purpled went into their room to grab his phone and then they were off, neither of them had a plan on where to go or what to do besides walk and talk, but that was fine with them. They walked out of the neighborhood and eventually into the town, where they looked around at the street displays and exchanged jokes for a while.
"Hey- uh... Purp do you still smoke?" Sapnap asked, nervousness clear in his tone as he stopped to face Purpled. Sapnap had been craving more cigarettes ever since the 'interest' meeting with Schlatt.
"Yeah, why do you ask? I got a pack of Marlboro Reds on me right now if you want one." Purpled replied, pulling out the pack from their hoodie pocket and opening it before glancing over at Sapnap for his response."Oh thank god, yeah I do." Sapnap gently took one of them, patting around his own pockets for a second before groaning as he realized he'd forgotten his own lighter. Purpled shaking their head as Sapnap looked over at him, not even able to get the question out, Sapnap sighed in annoyance before they both started walking again.
"Was kinda hoping you'd have one." Purpled frowned."Well shit. Wanna go to a store then?" Sapnap questioned, glancing around at the stores and trying to estimate which one of them might have some lighters.
"We're both underage, there's no way we would be able to get one." Purpled shook his head slightly as they followed Sapnaps gaze."Nobody said we had to buy it," Sapnap said with a grin as he spotted a gas station, which was practically made for people to do petty crimes in considering the shit quality cameras and the ignorant workers that they typically had. Purpled tilting their head thoughtfully before nodding and turning to Sapnap with a grin,
"Well, I needed a new lighter anyways."The duo headed into the store, having to hide away the Marlboro's in Purpled's hoodie again, placing their phone in front of it so the cigarettes didn't leave an imprint on the outside of the hoodie. The only employee they could see was the one working the cash register, a woman who looked around at least in her thirties, a few tattoos lining her arms as well as a shirt that was plain black, contrasting her vibrant red-dyed hair. Eyes flickering over Purpled multiple times, most likely because of his bright violet eyes, which obviously wasn't a normal feature in a person. Purpled, however, ignored the stares and glances, looking through the aisles to see if there was anyone else in the store. Luckily there didn't seem to be anyone besides one guy outside getting gas for his truck.
So Purpled went over to the shelf holding all the lighters, it was the closest to the door, Sapnap idly examined some of the drinks before grabbing two monsters and pausing on the way to get some bubble gum. Walking back over to Purpled and they glanced over a few of the lighters, making chat so it appeared they were just admiring them. Sapnap watched the woman as she turned away and took a sip of her drink, Purpled immediately pocketing the two that they had liked, one that was purple with a small ufo design on it, and the other that was black with a basic flame design on it.
Shuffling things around in their pockets until the only indent visible from outside the hoodie was from his phone, both walking up to pay for the drinks and gum, Sapnap grabbing the dollar-bills from his own pant's pocket it and handing it to the woman, who luckily didn't seem to suspect a thing. The door's bell that was hung up to alert a person walking in ringing, the man from outside coming in, Sapnap and Purpled slipping out behind him.
