Ryan pov

Life with Brendon is like the fairy tale "they lived happily ever after", but in a gay version. For example, for Bden's 35th birthday we were at Disneyland - B is a real Prince Charming. I have never been happier than I am now with Brendon by my side.
I was just surprised that Brendon's family doesn't celebrate Easter. B only later explained to me that the Morons just listen to the Resurrection reading and then go to Sunday school. Only the young children get gifts, specifically a few pieces of chocolate eggs.

End of April. Two days until the BBMA's. Brendon and I are going to Vegas a few days early to spend some time with his family.
- Ryan, are you ready to go? - B asks, closing the trunk of his Tesla.
- Yes. - I reply. - The dogs are safely seated in the back. We can get in and go.
- Wonderful! My mother will be glad we're coming for a bit. - He says and takes the driver's seat.
I get into the passenger seat next to him and buckle my seat belt.
- It's nice of your family to invite us. - I say and smile at him.
- You're like family to us, Ryan. You won't be staying in a hotel after the gala. - He replies and kisses me on the lips.
- Let's get moving so we can avoid the traffic. - I say, and Bden starts the engine.
Vegas - here we come!

As soon as we arrive in Vegas, Brendon's parents greet us with typical Mormon kindness. After quickly unpacking our stuff in Bden's former room, we sit down at the table with his parents.
- Ryan, sweetheart, how nice to see you. - Brendon's mom says. - Our Brenny Bear had the good idea to have you come the weekend before the gala, you'll at least get some rest. - She adds, putting a large portion of potatoes on my plate.
- It's nice for me to spend some time with you. I haven't been to Vegas much since I moved to California. - I reply. - And thank you - I smile at Mrs. Urie.
I make my own pork chops on Sunday.
- Dad, you absolutely must show Ryan the new antlers in your collection. - Brendon interjects.
- I'll show, I'll show, now eat Brendon Boyd. - replies Mr. Urie and begins to eat.
The atmosphere at the table is very family oriented. For the first time in a long time I feel wanted and loved.

April 27
Today's Billboard Music Awards
I'm stressed about this gala because I haven't attended one in a long time.
- Ryan, honey, you look gorgeous! - Brendon kisses me on the lips. - I know, I know, you weren't convinced about that glitter jacket, but it suits you.
- Thanks B - I counter and put the hairbrush aside. - Ready to go?
- Yes, and you? - He answers and looks at himself in the mirror.
- I think I am. I get stressed about events like this, especially since my performance is opening the gala. - I say.
- You have nothing to stress about, Ryan. I'll be there with you - he touches my hand. - Maybe not on stage, but I'll be there in the audience telling everyone 'look, that's my Ryan'. - He laughs and I start laughing with him.
- Thank you, thanks to you I'm sure it will be okay. - I hug him. - Shall we go?
- Yes - B smiles at me and leads me by the hand to the limousine provided by the studio.
Zack, elegantly dressed, opens the door for us.
- Get in, guys, because there is less and less time left. - he announces.
We get in and Zack closes the door and takes the seat next to the driver. Tony Berg is also in the limo. We're headed to the MGM Grand Garden Arena, at least that's what Zack says.
When we stop at the venue, a mass of photographers are already waiting. I step onto the red carpet with Brendon by the hand, and the flash of the cameras blinds me. Slowly moving down the carpet, we make our way to the entrance. Tony walks me backstage where the techs help me get ready to go on stage, and Zack takes Brendon into the main hall to take his seat. Everyone is nervously pacing backstage - the gala has to go perfectly. Everything moves very quickly.
It's the start time of the BBMA's gala. I go out on the stage. The spotlights are shining, the first notes of "Possessed Coast" plays. I start singing, and everyone looks at me. The visuals in the background change to match the lyrics, and on the fan favorite "And I remember fuckin in the falling rain..." a wall of rain appears behind me.
After the show, I take my seat next to Brendon and watch the next performances from the audience. When they announce the awards for the categories in which Brendon was nominated, I excitedly wait for the results, and then I rejoice along with B as he wins all the statuettes, namely "Best Artist," "Best Band," "Best Song," "Best Album," "Best Rock Artist," "Best Rock Band," "Best Rock Album," and "Best Rock Song." I only win one of the categories - "Best Male Artist". Well, it wasn't my year, but I'm still thankful that I won at least that one. Brendon was more deserving of the awards in the other categories where we were both nominated.

After the official part and the session with the statues in the "award room" we go with Brendon to the after party. Urie is snacking on chocolates from the sweet table when Zack isn't looking.
- How are you having fun, Ryan? - asks B, putting some Ferrero Rocher balls in his pocket.
- You know, I don't like parties like this... And you, how are you having fun, honey? - I look at him.
- It can be... I'd rather be somewhere else with you. - He says and walks over to the liquor bar.
I want to answer him something nasty, but Brendon turns to the bartender. He is just about to order himself some drinks when the song changes to "I Believe In A Thing Called Love".
- Our song, Ryan! - shouts B and pulls me by the hand onto the "dance floor".
He dances, singing along with the song. I don't think about it, I just let the music flow. I dance with Brendon. B laugh, especially at the "Touching you, God, you're touching me, ohh, I believe in a thing called love" part. Zack records us, he'll probably upload the video to the internet so the Ryden shippers have something to get excited about. It's a new version of a slow dance from the 2006 VMAs.
At the end of the song B passionately kisses me.
- Why don't we go home now? - he winks suggestively.
- I'd love to - I reply and show Zack that we are leaving.
Zack walks us to the limo, which takes us home.
We have barely crossed the threshold of the Urie house when Brendon starts to undress me.
- Not here - I pull him into the bedroom.
It's just not appropriate in a Mormon living room. In bedroom B takes out a Ferrero from his pocket and puts it on the bedside table. He hangs up his jacket and goes back to undressing me.
- I love you, Ryan - he whispers in my ear and kisses me again.
- I love you too, B - I reply and pull off his shirt.
More things land on the floor in mess, but we don't care anymore. All that matters is our affection and desire.
