MOE POV

What a night. One for the books boys. I don't know if you'd call it fun rescuing Gabriella at five in the morning while I have to be at football camp in two hours for the entire day and have work after that but, I think you could call it worth it. Her life and safety was at risk. What scares me is that I'm the one that put her at risk. I shouldn't have let her leave.

Now at camp, the trainer makes us run in the heat and our gear for two hours straight. It kills me, but it was better than doing it when the sun is at it's hottest point in the afternoon. After, we take a written test for about an hour to review the skills and techniques we've done so far. Football players aren't so book smart, I'll be the first to admit that. The day goes by, we continued practice. The last couple of hours we spend in the weight room.

And now work. It's busy. Nancy came in apparently and ordered a ton of boxes for her custom-made cakes from us. Shannon and her posse stopped by for lunch, so did Scotty the mailman. That was all before I even arrived, which was good. Only a few minutes after I got here, Gabby walks in with Dee and Jon. Now at least I have something to look at and distract me from my exhaustion that I feel. Dave tells me that I should train her to work the counter. Meanwhile after last night she didn't even want to look at me.

"Gabriella go with Moe behind the counter," her dad directs. She gets up, looking drowsy and tired, but comes behind the counter. Her hair is in a long braid, she has hoop earrings in and she's wearing a yellow sundress.

"Alright, I guess we'll start with the basics. Here's the drawer...you put hundreds here, twenties, tens, fives, and singles. You just type in the price here then click that button and type in the amount they gave you and afterwards the change pops up when the drawer opens. End of lesson," I tell her this slowly so she's able to process it. She probably hasn't worked a day in her life.

"Okay, cool," and she walks back to Dee and Jon who are sitting at a table. She barely looks at me the entire rest of the shift. Her father had to leave to go do something with Chanelle, which they drop her brother off here.

After work I went back to Rod's house. Tommy was also there. They were smoking cigs and had Kanye West on their Alexa. We were hanging out on the back stoop when Tommy mentions Gabby.

"Dude... Gabby's great, she's smokin' and those lips, man. She totally has a thing for you though," Tommy tells me excitedly. I roll my eyes.

"You actually fucked Moe's girl?" Rod asks. I want to know myself.

"Hell yeah, and damn. She's good. You guys have fun times together, huh Moe?" This was getting me upset. How Tommy's talking about Gabby like that. Did she actually fuck him though? Is she really that type of girl?

Then Jon walks in from the house with our body Owen.

"Oh just let yourself in, don't worry about it," Rod jokes, trying to lighten up the mood.

"We haven't done anything," I tell Tommy, going back to the topic.

"What, are we still talking about this Gabby chick?" Owen says, groaning. He's in the group chat with us guys and wasn't there last night, so he probably has no idea what we're talking about.

"Is she really that hot?" Owen sighs but still questions, lighting up his cig. Clearly, he hasn't seen her.

"Whose girl, is she?" Jon asks. He definitely sounds the most southern of us boys.

"Mine," Tommy and I say in unison.

"Dude, you didn't even kiss her yet... she's so good,"

"Yeah, well, you left her all alone last night and I had to go pick her up. It's who she calls when she needs help that matters,"

"Bro. Her boyfriend, or ex, is coming from Jersey in a week or two to get her back, that's what Dee was telling me," Jon adds. That's all I had. A week or two.

"We watched the Hangover together," I tell my friends.

"With Gabby?" Jon asks me. I nod. Jon laughs.

"We have to take them to a movie," Jon tells me.
"Why'd she wanna hook up with me anyways?" Tommy asks.

"Shannon," Jon and I both say together. At least he knows the truth.

After Rod's house I go home at about midnight. I take a shower, clean my room and remember how much fun I had with Gabby when I cleaned it with her. Only it wasn't fun doing it alone. I wish I could only have one chance with her. I don't know what it'd take though. Probably a miracle.
