MOE
I ordered pasta, garlic bread, mozzarella sticks and salad—since I know Gabby's vegetarian.
Since Gabby doesn't want to be seen in public with me, she wants to keep us on the low, and being the perfect boyfriend that I am, I decide to make an Italian restaurant-like dinner for her, as much as I can, at least. I push the living room couches into the den and light the fireplace. I dim the ceiling lights and put soft music on, piano. I also put on a white table cloth, with two candle sticks in the middle and light them up. I have a plate of salad on either side of the table, with a basket of garlic bread sticks in the middle.
I ask my niece, who is only eight, to be our 'waitress'. Yes, she has cancer and she's been home and feeling better. But she loves dressing up and whatnot. She wants to be part of our date anyway. I even put her in a black and white outfit and tip her ten bucks.
I just want to make this the most perfect night for Gabriela. I hope she enjoys it.
Then the doorbell rings.
And this is when our night will begin.
