Never Say A Word

Chapter 2

So glad that the first day of school was on a Friday. It sucks that I can't get away from Luke. We all live on the same street and my mom thinks that we're best friends. They're good friends with his parents so we have them over for dinner a lot. I was laying in bed playing on my phone when I got a call from Calum.
"Hey Cal." I answered.
"Hey Jen." I could hear his smile. "Ashton, Michael, and I are going to go to a movie, want to come with?"
"What movie?"
"The best movie that looks good."
"Ok I'll go."
"Ok we're meeting at my house come when you're ready. Bye."
"Bye." I hung up and jumped out of bed. I got dressed wearing all black besides my shorts that I wore over my leggings. I slipped into my flip flops and started heading to Calum's house. Unfortunately I have to pass Luke's house and his bedroom window is facing the street so he can see me. I looked at my phone.10:30 he most likely wouldn't be awake. I knocked on Calum's door and Michael answered.
"Hi!" He yelled smiling.
"Hi!" I said shocked. He looked both ways then pulled me in. "What the heck?"
"I thought I saw him."
"He wouldn't be awake."
"Sure he wouldn't." He said and it was quiet.
"Where's Calum?"
"Him and Ashton are upstairs." He said and we went upstairs.
"That's not what you do!" I heard Calum laugh.
"Then what do you do?" Ashton laughed. We peeked in and they had their backs to us and we couldn't tell what they were doing.
"Calum? Ashton?" I said confused. They turned their heads quickly.
"Oh hey Jennifer!" Calum smiled. "Let's go." He said both of them pushing Michael and me out of his room.

Let's watch..." Calum said looking at all the movies they were playing. "Insurgent!"
"I'm in!" I said.
"Let's get a lot of snacks!" Michael said. When we got into the theater nobody was in there. "Right here!" Michael yelled.
The movie started and someone sat next to me. I saw out of the corner of my eye that they had their hood up so I couldn't tell who it was. Later they put their arm over the back of my seat and pulled my hair. I pretended not to notice and watch the movie. Then when I had my popcorn on my lap they took it and dumped it on me. The persons hood fell off.
"Luke!!" I yelled. Calum stood up next to me.
"Leave her alone!" Calum yelled.
"What the hell am I doing to her?"
"Stop messing with her Luke!" Michael yelled.
"Shut the fuck up!"
"Then leave her the fuck alone!"
"I can do what I want with her!" Luke yelled then he slapped me, hard. So hard I fell out of my seat onto the floor. Then I felt something ice cold and my icee started dripping from the top of my head down my face and hair after Luke dumped it on me. He pushed me down with his foot. Then he kicked me hard in the stomach. Michael stepped over me and Calum and Ashton got down beside me.
"Jennifer you ok?" Ashton asked. I just laid there shivering from the icee and tears falling onto the floor. They helped me up and we walked out of the theater. It's too bad that I ate so much. Right when I saw the trash can outside of the theater I threw up in it. I felt Calum's fingers gently slide from the sides of my neck to my back collecting all my blonde hair in his hands. Ashton smoothly rubbed my back.
"Is she ok?" I heard Michael ask. There was no response. Michael then got down enough to see my face. "You ok?" I shook my head and threw up again. "I'll go buy you some water." He said and he got up walking away. Ashton started getting the chunks of blue ice out of my hair.
"He better not come out here or I'll kill him!" Calum said. Michael came back and handed me a water bottle and I drank some.
"Aw love your hair and clothes are all wet." He said brushing off my shoulders.
"Let's get you home Jen." Calum said.
"No! My parents are going to have him and his parents over for dinner again tonight and like always they'll have him come early."
"Ok then where are you going to stay?" I looked at him and he sighed. "How many nights you staying this time?"

Later I was in Calum's room wearing one of his shirts with Ashton helping me get what was left of my drink out of my hair.
"Ow! Don't pull that hard!" I giggled.
"Sorry!"
"What should we do? It's 7:30." Michael asked bored.
"I want to know why Jennifer never fights back against Luke." Ashton said and I looked at him.
"Really? He's been bullying me for years and I have tried so many times but ever since I have it's been worse! I'm not going to let it get worse."
"Ok sorry I asked." He held his hands up in surrender.
"Sorry it just bothers me when people tell me to fight back." I said. He nodded and we went over and sat on Calum's bed with him and Michael.
