"Hey," you breathe, voice shaking, as quietly as you dare. "Hey, it's okay."
You carefully approach the dog, and he turns to you, snarling. Your heart jumps in your chest, but you press on, smiling and bobbing a quick nod. "Yeah, it's all okay, buddy."
The dog whimpers, and he walks over to you, his head dropping in your hands. You laugh and pet his head, the simulation fading around you.
"Amity," Emery says, nodding approvingly and lightly hitting your shoulder. "Good choice, Y/N. It suits you, you'd fit right in there."
You smile back at him, happiness bubbling up inside you. "Thank you for letting me try the serum. That was amazing."
